Yep I'm an instructor. Sorry you had a bad experience - that shouldn't have happened. We stress safe slow descents as well as slow ascents. I have students follow me down a line so they learn how to go slowly enough to clear their ears. Hope you were able to recover & get back in the water.

1. Yesterday, we broke the story that Kansas drivers licenses for transgender people were being immediately revoked by the state.
This morning, the ACLU filed suit in state court to block that process.

Because of the National driver register, since their licenses are suspended, trans folks cannot move to another state and get a new license until they remove the suspension on their existing Kansas license.
They can't even escape this by moving to another state.
it took an expensive, coordinated effort & a lot of people saying “this doesn’t matter” to get from a bathroom ban costing one state $400 million & a gubernatorial race to “trans people must turn in their documents which become invalid in a few hours or face fines & potential jail time” in 10 years.
I don't think anyone pretending there isn't an effort underway by Republicans to eradicate trans people from public life can be taken seriously at this point.
