Alexander is LOUD in many aspects. His dress above all; the second paragraph of the book explicitly says he dresses to outshine the sky.
He also literally jangles, especially when in spurs (worn outside equestrian context, the mark of a truly disgusting Cavalier fop)… +
My old ass 🤝 Your old ass
Not, necessarily. It just depends on their personality. I am trying to think if I've written one that's loud... Mother Borrallo is blunt and outspoken, but not exactly loud. Elton is more boisterous, but that's his youth showing. Maybe I will need to write one for the future. 😉
as part of his church vestments, but even in plain clothes he prefers mostly subdued colors except for a pop of jewel toned blue or green.
Spencer also has an air of calm and quiet, which he uses to help other people, both living and dead. His calm helps them bring their own energy down. He has a deep voice, so it carries without him needing to raise it. That said, he can and does get loud when needed. He wears greys and blacks

Wren is usually quiet. She speaks calmly, moves silently, and wears clothes in subdued colors; grays, blacks, and dark blues. When she is loud, she is either putting on an act or deliberately drawing attention as part of some plan. 🧵

#MarchWorldbuilders In Fenholt, most gods have an animal associated with them. Owls are associated with the Gray Lady and it is believed they can carry lost spirits across the Veil. For this reason, there are often nest boxes built for them in cemeteries. #Wrencer #WritingPrompts
Wren and Co. were sleeping in a barn and Var Krugan's men tried to get the jump on them.

Hey Emily, did you spend your spring break catching up on work and chores?
Lol no I spent it translating poetry into made up hieroglyphics so my #Atlamtis book can have nerdy decorations 😂
Aw thanks so much Nicole! 😁🫶

My offering. 🤲
"The rough and weathered wood shingles of the roof she laid on kept her snugly secured on its slope as she tried her best to appreciate what little the skies could offer."
Double-snipping today. 🤫
This is from the introduction to Wardens of Felcrown, an upcoming (pretty soon!) fantasy adventure serial about a megadungeon that becomes a city and the struggles of that path.
It follows the heroic adventures of those six (now adult) "Liberty Children."

The gang had a run in with some ghouls and one of them bit him. I think I shared a snip of that scene once before.
He dresses in black, hangs out in graveyards at night, and has a skull for a best friend. Spencer is practically:
Wren 🤝 me, too! That's where she gets it from, lol.
Yes! I think that's it. After an hour on bluesky my brain is like *dusts hands together* mission accomplished.
I have found this strategy works better for me, too. Going to the phone and bsky scrolling first seems to kill my early morning flow.
#MarchWorldbuilders In the Great Fens outside of Fenholt, there are pack animals called Marsh Mules that are basically Llamas that have adapted to wet conditions. Their fur is water proof they have larger feet with webbing between the toes that lets them distribute their weight in mud/silt. #Wrencer
Agreed. They both have a thing for goth guys. 😂 Wren has probably faced more life and death situations than book 1 Edie... but in later books? I am asking, I want to know. 👀
I really didn't expect to have this word! Spencer is looking for a little alone time to commune with his goddess.

#Atlantis:
Mireia & Kena are both pretty daydreamy, but I'd say Mireia more so. She'll make up heroic or romantic fantasy situations for herself, and often imagines her loved ones giving voice to her own subconscious, e.g. arguing with her when she's feeling guilty.

Wren sympathizes with this, lol.
Wren 🤝 Edie
In Bludeye Beach, Edie definitely has an active imagination, but most of the time it's playing out from her anxieties; she has a bit of a habit of catastrophizing 😅
(In her defense, sometimes the monsters are real tho 😂)
I don't want to say Spencer is unimaginative, but his thoughts are not as fanciful as Wren's. His day dreaming is less frequent and tends to focus on more realistic things, like how he imagines his future with Wren could be.
if you expect the worst and it doesn't happen, you get to be relieved and if you expect the worst and it DOES happen, you aren't disappointed because you already knew it was going to be awful. She also frequently comes up with creative solutions to problems on the fly.

Wren is a very imaginative and "in her head" character. She usually imagines the worst thing that could happen and her musings often make it onto the page in her running inner monologue. It's a bit of coping mechanism, because 🧵

Wren is focused on the mystery of the cursed necklace, but Spencer has other things on his mind.
