Last week at Queen’s Park, I stood with Survivors, First Nations leaders, and community members to raise the Survivors’ Flag for Truth and Reconciliation Day. This flag symbolizes the impact of residential schools, honoring Survivors and remembering lost children.

I was heartbroken to hear of the murder of Serenity Brown near High Park this past Saturday. I add my prayers to the communities for her family and friends' comfort and healing.

The OAC has demonstrated a clear picture: Minister Calandra shutting Trustees out of the education system will have the greatest impact on vulnerable children.
Families need a voice. The Ford government must reverse course—Ontario’s children cannot afford this mistake.

We wanted to bring a little fun to close out the summer. We had a back-to-school fair in Parkdale with free school supplies, face painting, games, pizza and ice cream. It was a blast!!
Thanks to everyone who came to volunteer and enjoy time together.
Here's hoping for a great school year ahead.

Our schools don't need more police. They need the 6.3 billion dollars in support that Ford has taken out of the education budget since he came into power.
Policing in schools does not make children safer. Children deserve a culture of compassion, not fear.

The first day of school is right around the corner, and to help get ready, I'll be hosting a back-to-school fair. Come out to pick up a free backpack, school supplies, and to finish off summer with ice cream and fun!

I joined Gazan Canadians and Allies to demand urgent action from the federal and provincial governments. The 2-year-old Gaza Immigration Program is still failing to deliver on promise, as precious Palestinian lives are lost every single day.

Every child has a right to the supports and services they need! I spoke to Trillium about the failure of the Ford government to support children with autism. The premier has never put forth a genuine response to solving the issue.

Thank you to the NCCM for inviting me to your town hall where we discussed the rise in Islamophobia, the genocide in Gaza and solutions we can bring to Queens Park. The most moving part of the day was hearing from parents and students on how to make our schools safe for Muslim students.

The Ontario NDP is calling on Premier Ford and PM Carney to uphold its obligations under international law to take meaningful steps to end the suffering of Palestinian civilians and provide greater supports for Palestinian refugees fleeing genocide in Gaza.
