Raja has been brave and outspoken in rejecting nearly everything Trump does. ICE as an entity is not the problem. It’s bad policy and poor leadership.
To be fair, in the interest of transparency, that was a vote on a broader resolution that primarily condemned antisemitism, and the “gratitude” portion referenced multiple law-enforcement agencies, not just ICE. That context is important, as Raja and colleagues have been outspoken opponents of ICE.
Unfortunately, the businesses will get the refunds, keep prices artificially inflated, and the stock market will continue to boom. It’s a great day for capitalists, not so much for American “tax” payers.
