Alabama is set to execute Sonny Burton on March 12, even though he never killed anyone and the state admits that.
Sonny has stayed on death row for 33 years while his health deteriorates. Governor Ivey must commute his sentence.

Nearly everyone behind the walls is coming out at some point—often worse off. The system shows you how fragile your freedom is and fractures any life you want to build with it.
