It's a UNIX system?!
Nope, just the FSN inspired atproto record browser in @aetheros.computer.

Calling this app, Nedry. πŸ¦–πŸ§¬

I once got so mad when I caught Moby at Coachella by mistake and he was going entirely harder at the crowd than my hater self was ready to give credit for, so we're doing this tonight

I had to remove "meta acquires moltbook" from my dead internet theory black mirror episode script because the other writers agreed it was a little too on the nose

A licensed Baja Blast colorway for $499 and free wifi at participating Taco Bells would be the funniest way to launch a post Tim Cook era.

In my defense, I am currently a little drunk.

But I do think the argument that it’s hella random doesn’t meet the plot. There is certainly more nuance than β€œlikely next thing” at hand in modern LLMs

IMO this is one of those technically correct things that betrays too much

Maybe that’s close to how we work, for one, who knows

Industry hits people with high finance jargon and mechanics with few pulled punches, much of it relevant to plot. It can just work!

Could probably be honed as a skill md file tbh. I might practice more with it and dial it in.

β€œDevelop module 1 as a single page with interactive visuals that explain each step. Make sure it reads perfectly on a phone screen, and pause to consider the needs for the other modules, because we’ll reuse this work continuing along”

β€œβ€¦ about what needs to be learned by someone trying to come up to speed on the math and library functions involved; outline a lesson plan.”

Then adjust depth of said outline and kick off like:

Try it. Take up a OpenCV demo or similarly scoped generated thing and say,

β€œthis thing does x, y, z.

1. it can be better, so notes are welcome, but more important
2. I want to better understand the concepts of what this does, so in the course of analysis also think…

I kinda want to hook up a mediapipe script so I can just furrow my eyebrow / Paddington Stare it

But the danger of being vague is that negatives and doubt can turn right answers into wrong answers so be lazy carefully

07.03.2026 04:56 πŸ‘ 5 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

For things like programming it is a big lever to know that the answer *is* probably somewhere there on the gradient and that you just have to provoke it, unlike ourselves where we hit a limit and have to actually learn more to go forward. Often, vague criticism works as well as explaining in detail.

The funny thing is sometimes it’s not even direct correction but you just say something like β€œha, no”

07.03.2026 03:14 πŸ‘ 10 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

But like it’s building insanely complex 3D artifacts for each little modular step where I can visualize all kinds of edge cases and think through problems with a spatial model of the math and it’s truly a bicycle for the mind

07.03.2026 03:12 πŸ‘ 5 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

A lot of complexity takes the form of β€œI can’t load this library so I’ll roll my own based on my superficial knowledge” and honestly in that regard it’s the most real engineer

07.03.2026 03:10 πŸ‘ 10 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I just went through this with a computer vision pipeline, and I basically switched it from code to explaining each bit of math with an interactive visualization and then from *there* I was able to make huge strides in directing a clean specification; so far seems to be working and more resilient

I met him before Twitter, socially, and I think the woke to alt-right-y arc reflects less that he's rich and more that he doesn't have a strong point of view that is his own

when the influences are good, magic, if a little strained by overanalysis; but can be glimmered by effin' Elon just the same

the easiest way to process this is that he's not actually that smart and has a hard time making decisions

So recently I've been re-exploring the Fourier Transform. I learned about it a long time ago, but didn't realize it could be applied to images too.

It's fascinating to see how sine wave patterns can add together to form an image.
