How am I supposed to focus on exams when tragic historical events in American history KEEP HAPPENING?

I casually came across a TikTok discussion in which someone admitted to using AI to CREATE their fanfiction. Which is an interesting way of reinforcing the misconception that fanfiction isn't writing 🙄

I am set to take my comprehensive exams at the beginning of February. Anybody have any study tips or exam advice?

I received my second practice exam question for my doctoral exams this morning. As expected, I have no thoughts on how to answer that, but I do have two new article ideas bouncing around in my noggin. 💀

I am mildly irritated that the Goodreads awards puts new, niche, and indie horror authors against Stephen King. (Yes, I'm mad that Monika Kim's The Eyes Are The Best Part didn't win.)

I just need to get past this obnoxious anxiety hurdle! Sometimes, being a first-generation student doesn't feel like too big of a deal. Then I have to try new things, and I become PAINFULLY aware of how first gen I am 😭

Just submitted my first academic book review today. Now, I only have to be a brave little toaster and work towards submitting my first journal article. If anyone needs me, I'll be sobbing in the shower 🖤
