I'm very proud of my former CNET colleagues for getting this project going. We need more independent games media and I can't think of better folk to bring a new outlet to life.
Pretty crazy how important the blockade of a trade route is right now
Kickstarter page for CONTINUE: A Defiant, New Videogames Magazine, showing that 354 backers pledged 28,300 to bring this to life.
It's been 7 hours. We hit the goal. We hit the freaking goal man π±π±π±π±π±π±π₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ή
Every single person who made this a reality on day one ... thank you so much. So so much. We are doing this!!!!!!
I want to introduce you all to something myself and @jacksonwryan.com have been working on.
A PRINT MAGAZINE about video games and video game culture.
We know things have been bad for games writing recently. We're asking, "do you want to Continue?"

The Despelote GDC talk is fantastic. This game used improvised crowd chatter to go for authenticity.
Andor sickos rise up.
It is once again my delight to reveal a new chapter of the Reign of the Empire trilogy, Edge of the Abyss by @rebeccaroanhorse.bsky.socialβand featuring a few familiar faces from a little TV show you may have heard about, Andor

A large single page comic illustration. We look down on a woman in a jumpsuit and work vest, sitting on the edge of a fountain, dipping a red glowing bottle into the dark water. An open red bag rests at by her feet. At the top of the fountain is a huge stone head, a sleeping face carved from the cliff behind the fountain, with water pouring from its mouth into one small pool before flowing into the larger base of the fountain.
A woman in a practical jumpsuit and vest sits in the foreground while behind her a crowd in similar gear move under a large stone tower with stained glass windows, built around a huge pipe rising off-panel. Beyond that rooftops recede to a distant dark wall under an iron sky of pipes
A four panel page, showcasing a tall long armed and long haired slender man with black artificial eyes as he crawls through the depths of an industrial super structure before emerging onto one of its walkways outside under a dark green sky pierced with light by a red sun. He walks to the edge of the structure's walkway and looks down into a distant sea.

Hey! @outersloth.com just publicly shared itβs contract terms at GDC 2026. Hereβs the skinny if youβre looking for some funding!
GDC week is here in the Bay!
Donβt believe all the bullshit that people tell you about San Francisco/ the Bay. We got problems but it is a BEAUTIFUL city. Do yourself a favor and try to leave the Moscone area and grab a burrito and a cutty bang. Blast some Mac Dre while youβre at it.
I want FFVII Remake Part 3 to be even bigger than Rebirth. More mini-games, more optional bosses, and yes, more Chadley, please.
CyberPunk 2077 has tons of great music, but when this kicks in, holy shit...

whatever you call this art style - PS2 era medium-poly characters with hand-made highly detailed but also somewhat blurry textures with baked-in lighting - I absolutely love it and it makes me want to drop everything and make games
YOU CAN FIGHT ICE BY ANNOYING THEM - MESS UP THEIR FOOD/DRINK ORDERS - LOSE THEIR TICKETS/RESERVATIONS - OVERTIGHTEN LUG NUTS, STRIP SPARK PLUGS - GIVE THEM INCORRECT BUT REAL-SOUNDING INFORMATION - RECORD THEM WITH YOUR PHONES - DISRUPT THEM WITH LOUD NOISES (CAR ALARMS, MUSIC, BANGING METAL) AND BRIGHT LIGHTS (FLASHLIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS) - SHAME THEM Fuck yeah THE FASCISTS WANT COMPLACENCY. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. Fuck them White supremacist IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO MAKE Β«MISTAKES"
Monkey wrenching is such an under appreciated form of protest
I played several hours of Crimson Desert and wrote the final preview for IGN. I'm really liking how this game is coming together, and it's really gorgeous in motion. This one just might beat the "too good to be true" allegations.
ππ½ you gonna be at the day of the devs on Sunday?
Hello, @gamespot.com is hiring a new Associate Commerce Editor. This is a full-time, salaried position. You would be working with me (the Commerce Editor) and primarily be writing/editing/curating buying guides and best-of roundups. Full details in the job listing: about.fandom.com/careers/list...
Saddened to announce I was affected by the recent Polygon layoffs. Though my time there was short, it was an incredible experience with a truly lovely bunch of people.
If youβre looking for a games/entertainment nerd for writing, presenting, PR, or any other opps, hit me up!
I also had an interview with Will Powers about the game's reputation after nearly 7 years since the reveal, and how the devs want players to keep their expectations close to what the game's really about.

i feel so bad for the highguard devs.
the kind of shit that has happened with Highguard, even just the things the public has been privy to, is genuinely PTSD-inducing shit.
i would not blame any devs who decide theyβre done with the industry β thatβs what we lose when this happens.
Iβm just feeling really angry about this. I met the devs of this game prior to launch and they were so proud of their work on Highguard. Itβs deeply unfair and cruel to see how small the margins are for βsuccess.β
I'm hoping for the best for the Engadget team. They've been amazing to work with over the last year and I'm super proud of the written work I've published with them.
With Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie now out, I've been revisiting some of the old clips. The Wii shop one is probably my favorite www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWOl...
