To my fellow loud, weird, glamorous broads: today the torch is passed. Together we are Moira Rose now. May we rise to the task.
American Exceptionalism is a Fucking Lie
That was a powerful kick of existential hope. Thank you.
"Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted." -Dr. MLK Jr. in his sermon "The Transformed Nonconformist"
Shit can suck, shit can get worse. You know this, from experience. But you also know that we need people with knowledge and wisdom that says βyou can get through, you can learn, you can grow, even in the darknessβ
theyβre abducting our neighbors and putting them in concentration camps and theyβll shoot you in the fucking face if you donβt cheer them on while theyβre doing it.
Yay we outlived 2025!
HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM PORTLAND
itβs gonna be a good one bitches I can already feel it
make art, punch Nazis, read romance novels, drink water, throw out the clothes you hate wearing, smash the patriarchy, say βI love youβ
Starting the new year with my window open and sitting in front of a fan because my body likes to celebrate with hot flashes, apparently! Iβve decided this is auspicious.
Remember, masks arenβt just for Covid!
They also help protect against colds, flu, measles, RSV and more.
They guard against pollution, wild fire smoke and pollen.
A well fitted respirator can keep you healthy while also protecting those around you.
Itβs radical community care.
No worries, I appreciate the offer even if it doesnβt work.
DM is great! Iβm the same. It was my motherβs worst nightmare.
The holidays are very, very weird. It sometimes feels like timelines are overlapping and separating at the same time. Itβs a unique kind of ache.
Iβm very interested, if you have one to share. My mom has dementia that is advancing. We moved her into assisted living last year and will likely be moving her into memory care in the next year or two, and I teared up just watching the trailer.

The greatest thing she ever said to me was in 1943 after the opening of Oklahoma!, when I suddenly had unexpected, flamboyant success for a work I thought was only fairly good, after years of neglect for work I thought was fine. I was bewildered and worried that my entire scale of values was untrustworthy. I talked to Martha. I remember the conversation well. It was in a Schrafft's restaurant over a soda. I confessed that I had a burning desire to be excellent, but no faith that I could be. Martha said to me, very quietly: "There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. As for you, Agnes, you have so far used about one-third of your talent."
As told by the late dancer and choreographer Agnes DeMille.
you know how when you were a little kid you could go up to people and be like, βyou, girl with the pink ponytail, do you want to be friends?β and then you were friends?
you can also do that as a grownup; they donβt want you to know this, but people hardly ever say no

Normal People Donβt Want This Shit is running away with the vote tonight
Clinicians will be able to identify female autism in mere seconds by posing one simple question: βDo you have, or have you ever had, an imaginary horse?β
I truly believe part of the path out of where we are as a nation involves actually mourning our dead.
Please, please help me. Open this post for info. ππ» I'm so scared about having enough food and resources to survive.
Sort of stunning how much this framing helps.
