Well I can say that we here at Syncing Not Swimming are deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Lynch, auteur extraordinaire. The soundtrack to Eraserhead was a huge inspiration for at least one of us.

When BBC4 made those Punk/Prog Britannia documentaries. One was a charming hour of some old guys who'd wanted to make some challenging music and had a nice time doing it. One was a bitter three hour, self-indulgent whine of entitled people who'd wanted to make some challenging music and hated it.
