Been working through a Vulkan tutorial, and finally have a triangle after ~1000 lines of code. Hadn't realized just *how* low-level Vulkan was.

Haven't been this jazzed about such a simple result since I first started with OpenGL via nehe.gamedev.net, over 20 years ago.

Nice. I haven’t worked with pixi yet, but I tend to do a bunch of stuff with canvas.

Just searched for β€œthreejs” here and looks like no one’s talking about it here (yet). Let’s change that! Where are all the web-based 3d fans?

Solid benchy there! The ender machines are great.

Hah! I thought that skull might be Phineas Gage (though I’ll admit I didn’t remember his name). Very cool

Awesome! I’m on there too, but mainly cults3d these days https://cults3d.com/en/users/zanzas_toys/creations

Indie mechanical toys for people to 3d print at home! I mainly make stuff for 1:18 scale action figures, since it’s small enough to be a challenge, but still big enough for things to have fun effects.

Hey, you can’t delete social media accounts unless you first create them

Hah! Nope- just pushing pixels and polygons around

Hello! Geospatial data analysis sounds really interesting. I’m mainly a JS person, but was just playing with point cloud to mesh pipelines with Python - really fun stuff

Thanks! Great to meet you. I’m at a little over 20 years in myself, mainly in virtual worlds and web dev.

One of my toys- a tiny (1:18 scale) mutoscope. It actually works, too - turning the knob flips through a sequence of Muybridge photos of a running horse

Definitely! I tend to focus on mechanical miniature toys- the challenge of making a fun play feature that can work physically is rewarding in a really similar way to game dev
