I just finished “Blood, Sweat, and Pixels” by Jason Schreier and it’s been pretty incredible the parallels between teaching public high school and the gaming industry.

Avowed, MH Wilds, Shadows, South of Midnight, Khazan, Eternal Strands, Atomfall, Oblivion, Expedition 33, Split Fiction, Pirate Yakuza… all big games and not nearly enough time for them all.

And that doesn’t even account for all the great smaller indie stuff too.

Insane year for games so far.

Yeah I’m a big tech guy who misses the point of art.

We need to stop posting stuff like this.

Expedition 33 hitting 100,000 concurrent on Steam alone is pretty massive.

So many interesting data points recently for games with really strong vision compared to a lot of the bigger AAA major publisher releases that are on their umpteenth installment.

Dan Carlin, who I have never met, but have listened to for hours and if you do the same you have masters degree in understanding people, history, and culture. This is a person of principle, unbiased, and someone who understands humanity and tells the truth as it actually is.

D&D is like a writers room and they are all creatives. Like all groups, someone takes the lead (DM). However, some people have different goals in mind and that is one reason why so many campaigns fail. Establishing a friendly relationship/setting expectations beforehand is essential for fun.

I wish I had this for daily life.

This year, I've spent a lot of time trying to meet new people, and I've discovered that everyone is just trying to make it, especially amongst the "nerd" community. The great American experiment seems to be failing. I am worried that it is going to come to something that has consequences for all.

I find it hilarious that in games where the public perception is that the player base is completely toxic or that it's a bunch of old children, that the developers input quests that try to teach social cues and politeness.
