Anyway, my coworker Bill Bender has been pursuing this story for years and years and this is in large part due to his dogged reporting. Here is a particularly egregious courtesy towing story from 2021: www.inquirer.com/news/philade...
At last, a promise to fix courtesy towing, the insane Philadelphia tradition where tow companies whisk your legally-parked car away and never tell you where it is. (I have been courtesy towed three times! It genuinely makes you question your grasp on reality.) www.inquirer.com/news/courtes...

The Washington-Baltimore News Guild strongly condemns the layoffs announced today at The Washington Post. These cuts represent yet another blow to a newsroom that has already been pushed to its limits and a disservice to the readers who rely on The Post for rigorous, independent journalism.
Media organizations have to stand together and call out these attacks on journalists. Proud to stand with NABJ newsguild.org/journalist-o...

The popularity of the “ICE Out” package among Council members may force Mayor Cherelle L. Parker to wade into immigration issues.
case to be made that no one has done more philly twitter propaganda on a national level than dan mcquade
I know I’m a homer but this was the most quintessentially McQuade story. Perfect idea, perfect execution. Dan was the only person on Earth who could’ve written this.
Dan McQuade was the lifeblood of Philly writers, a mensch whose gift for writing was only surpassed by his love of his country, Philadelphia. The city will never be the same without him.
I feel so lucky to have gotten to know Dan a little over the years. He wrote about our perfect city like no one else could, and he was unfailingly kind whenever we crossed paths. Just a supremely good guy gone far too soon.
