Real talk, I can't be a firefighter anymore because of complications from a bad round of Covid-19. It reduced my lung capacity and essentially gave me exercise induced asthma. We are just now starting to come to terms with the long term consequences of this illness. "It's just a cold" nah dawg

This is part of my grad program and seems like great news
There is no acknowledgment of the collective trauma many adult children of antivaxxers have faced, or how that ties in with other issues like abuse and neglect in homeschooling. I'm not here to tell anyone else how they should feel about their own experience or the morality of their own parents.

we have saved daylight
but at what cost
January 2021 was the deadliest month of the pandemic. 3000 Americans died daily, 95,000 in total.
And Prasad was *mocking* people for avoiding COVID.
Shame on anyone who treated him as a good faith actor or serious thinker.
Let’s be honest about his record.
When people say cities like Baltimore & DC are rundown shitholes the quiet part is that they’re mad so many Black people are there in those cities going about their daily lives as regular & you have to see them in those cities. That’s pretty much it.
really tired of conversations about how we need to get people to spend more time offline that don't acknowledge that one of the reasons people ARE online is their access needs aren't being met in physical spaces. This is especially true for queer people and disabled people.
A major UK study has found what disabled people knew: remote and hybrid working arrangements boost the health, wellbeing and job retention of Disabled workers. It warns that declining availability of such jobs threaten this.

A woman with Long Covid won almost one million dollars in a lawsuit against her employer who refused to allow her work from home accommodations.
May this set a precedent.
Remote work should be accessible to all who need it.
It’s a game changer for people with disabilities.
If you live in IL-09, please vote for Kat
Way to go, antivaxxers! 🙌
Yeah the war isn’t a distraction from the Epstein files, it’s a continuation of them
yesterday the United States bombed a grade school & murdered school kids.
today the United Stated bombed a children's hospital & murdered injured kids.
nothing makes this okay. the purpose of a system is what it does.
no war with Iran.
BBC: “Long Covid patients are forgotten, ex-GP says”
‘A doctor whose career was ended by long Covid said living victims of the virus were being forgotten by politicians and the NHS’

I hate how accurate this tweet is.
there is no metric by which this is true. even 2028 primary polling (which is meaningless in general but seems like a fair yardstick here) doesn’t have him on top.
just a brazen attempt to impose him on us by the rich and the commentariat.
breaking from every other major american jewish institution, the jcpa, which is the only democratically-run establishment umbrella organization in american jewish life, says fuck iran, but also this is an illegal war.
if you think these kinds of ultra harmful media tropes about trans women aren’t part of the political violence being enacted on trans people right now…
i have some news for you
I cannot process the scale of the evil we commit.
How many times in my life should I wake up to the news that we're killing children?
“How many of these gentle people have I helped to kill just by paying my taxes?" June Jordan, 1984
