My last FO, “Alcove” in design my Mam’Zelle Flo (on Raverly) made out of spindle spun yarn.

Finished and now also documented, #manousweater in #nutidenyarn Byttan, Ljus and Eldsjäl. Byttan is a stunning colour 🩵 It’s difficult to capture, I would say it’s warmer and has more yellow tones compared to the photo. I’m so happy with this sweater!

Half way through my sample of dark grey Åland sheep wool. It’s so soft and lustrous. I haven’t been spinning pure silk, but I can imagine this is what it feels like. It’s almost slippery, so I have to take it even more slowly than I usually do. I’m using my carved rose spindle from Texas Jeans 🌟

Åland sheep wool ready to be carded and spindle spun. I have separated the soft undercoat from the outercoat by hand. It took some time but gave me an opportunity to explore the wool. The undercoat is so lovely, lustrous and with a silky feeling. Yummy!

Fisherman’s gansey delivered to my son Isak and documented in a photo shoot. I’ve knitted it freely based on a pattern from Sheringham, Norfolk, an area known for its many and varied gansey patterns. I’ve been in doubt so many times on whether it would fit and am so happy it does!

To the left, Lovikka yarn from the legendary woollen mill Morjärv. It’s closed down since many years, but it was situated in northern Sweden and produced wonderful yarn. To the right, my attempt to replicate their Lovikka, a bulky single ply yarn traditionally used for making thick and warm mittens.

My husband Magnus in #fishermansraglan knitted in double strands Nutiden Rå. The combination of yarn and pattern is magical! ✨ The colourway is almost impossible to capture via mobile phone, but it’s described by Caroline at Höner and Eir as golden brown and green. Lovely!

Oh, I just love this! Black Wensleydale lamb’s roving spun into a soft and lustrous yarn. The roving comes from @chiltongroundsfarm that I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Lovely people, beautiful place and cute curly sheep. Can’t get better than that 💗

My beautiful Majacraft wheel. I have named her Bojan after my grandmother who was an amazing fibre crafter, one of my greatest inspirations. I haven’t been able to use her for a while due to back problems, but today I will have a go. Carefully and with joy.

Combed and teased fleece from North Ronaldsay, Gotland and North Country Mule sheep that was both dirty and felted before I started processing it, but I wanted to see if I could use it. I’ve mixed it with Swedish Helsinge fleece from a ram lamb and intend to spin thick singles. Drumcarding is next.

The beginning of something new, #fishermansraglan in Nutiden Rå. I feel a bit obsessed with this yarn. It’s rich on lanolin and smells wonderful. The colour is fascinating, according to the maker Caroline inspired by raw-pressed pumpkin seeds oil. What’s not to like? 🤎
