Early Brookie was great. Fun fact…my dad’s construction company built Brookside Close. He was working away up in Liverpool for months.
Just looked up when I stopped watching Brookside. It was 1991 after the “who killed Sue Sullivan” saga.

I saw them them not long after it came out at the Finsbury Park tent with NO, ACR and The Railway Children. Complete one offs back then, weren’t they. Should not have worked but, boy, did it?
I definitely had the Desmond issue as we all remarked on the “borrowing”.
Kuff Dam, Tart Tart and Little Matchstick Owen are the only three for me that would make a playlist. I had the original pressing with Desmond and the fancy Dan PVC sleeve.
I bought it at the time but can’t listen to it now. Prince’s version was my favourite single of 1986. I think it was Pete Astor at the time who said the AOC had deradicalised the original and he’s right.
Still fond of the first two AOC singles, mind.

Yes but also feel the same way with The Storm. I’m no audiophile but I had the singles on vinyl and the album on cd and I remember the vinyl sounded much better.
