I really enjoyed this and if I was the type to be super thorough I would definitely go back and finish up all the side quests. Everything about it was a step up for the series, which has never really been plot driven. Nioh is all about combat and balance & this is the most refined it has ever been.

An extra advantage is not a bad thing by the way when you’re playing a game where you can get hit once or twice and die, which happened to me about 40 times on the last boss and even more times on a few others.

For those who have played the previous Nioh games, the ninja style is a breath of fresh air. For those who haven’t, it might change your mind about the genre. Ninja is a lot more fun and less rigid than the samurai only stuff from the original, though at times it can feel a bit overpowered.

There was time travel, the usual ninja, samurai, priestess with a staff, wisecracking guy with a gun, and ninja cat deity who could talk. It was enough to keep you going, but definitely the thinnest part of a gameplay experience that had so much depth.

The enemies also don’t scale so you can come back and crush any place you had trouble with. The bosses were tough but most of them were fun to learn and figure out.

I have no idea what the plot really was about here besides the pursuit of power.

#Nioh3 was special!

I put myself through one #soulslike a year and I’m glad this is the one I chose. As I’ve mentioned before it was easier than the previous entries, I believe due to the open world approach instead of the single level structure of the previous ones.

I actually liked ZoE1, but I understand why some people aren't into it.
