Mason’s highs are good (although still no wins) but his lows are far too frequent. Lille was just embarrassing. He doesn’t offer enough in other disciplines so he needs to be that consistently good week in week out cx guy to offer real value.
Good on the publicity front but he’s 25 and it’s very few riders who can get a full time cx contract from that age onwards. Vandeputte his age group peer is the benchmark for high level consistency. The Michael/Lars/Laurens/Toon generation, Joris, that’s the level for longevity in this sport.
Yeah a bit surprised Meeussen survived but younger than Vandebosch. Do you know what Mason's contract status is? He, along with the 2 Crelan lads I've mentioned felt most vulnerable.
