Taxes are something that everyone should pay to buy into the vast resources and opportunities that our nation should provide to everyone.
I sometimes wonder if we just named "soft power" something like "tall turgid thrusting power" would these guys have been more in favour of it and thereby less self undermining.
The media often treats Trump like some sort of Zelig-like character, a mere bystander in his own administration w/no agency or ability to shape decisions. It's really infuriating considering Biden and Obama were both expected to own everything going on in the country all the time.

So, so instructive to compare media response to Afghanistan withdrawal -- months of hysterical garment-rending & catastrophizing, relentless criticism of the admin -- with the response to an unprovoked, unmotivated, illegal war of aggression, ie, "some critics say maybe Trump should have reasons."
