Rayman PS1 - Skipping Bad Rayman (Candy Château)

I managed to skip the Bad Rayman trigger first try yesterday. Honestly it was pure luck.

It's so hard to predict where exactly the trigger is. In the GBA version you actually see it marked with a sparkling effect, making this skip much easier.

Rayman PS1 - Eat at Joe's Level

I beat it without losing a single life yesterday and I was so happy. Those fish are so hard to predict.

This was my least favourite level as a kid (this and the last part of Space Mama's Crater). I lost so many lives here.

As a teen I would've been very happy to see my sexuality represented in media. It would've made me feel better and more confident about myself. It helps with normalising things and creating acceptance.

In the USA conservatives are fostering a culture of hate and bigotry. I'm glad to not live there.

I've never played a Pokemon game because as a kid I was a bit of a rebel and never wanted to do anything that was trendy or others were doing.

But now I've seen Pokopia and I really, really like it. It looks so cute and fun to play. Maybe some day I have to buy a Switch 2 so I can play that game. 🦊

Playing GTA (Grand Theft Auto) Liberty City Stories on the Sony PlayStation Portable. I still have the CheatDevice by edisoncarter installed, I made some fun codes for that back in the day.

I spent the evening playing PSP. Still love that little portable.

It's happening again now. I'll put together a collection of community made fixes for these prototypes including some I made myself.

The reason I don't use Discord is that I once landed on a server of bigots who made fun of me because of my avatar and stalked me for months after.

The cancelled 2D version of Rayman 2 for PS1.

Yeah I love the final Rayman 2 soundtrack too, but it's interesting to see what could've been.

The 2D version wasn't as dark and serious as The Great Escape.

It kept the cutesy art style and vibe from Rayman 1. The music was composed by Daniel Masson who also did the Rayman Junior music.

Here's the only known music track from the unreleased 2D Rayman 2 from 1996.

It was cancelled in favour of a 3D game after the developers saw Crash Bandicoot at the 1996 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The song comes from a PAL PS1 prototype disc of Rayman 2: The Great Escape owned by SolidSnake11.

"Little Sadie" fascinates me with its Dorian mode tune and unconventional way of telling a murder ballad story.

Troy Junius Arnall remade it into "Cocaine Blues" in 1947 with a much less interesting tune. Johnny Cash performed it at Folsom Prison in 1968.

Here's "Donkey Riding", a fun sea shanty. The song refers to steam donkey engine ships, not actual donkeys. :3

Tune and words are based on a Scottish folk song, "Highland Laddie". Shanties often recycled older songs.
