Third straight game he's played for them, first start, after going 3-for-3 in the prior two.
Martin Gallegos tweet reading: "Now Breyson Guedez, 18-year-old A's prospect, takes Michael King deep for a booming 450-foot blast to right."
LET'S GO
since people are talking about sports gambling today, can I implore you to read this, in which recovered gambling addicts talk about how it changed their relationship to friends, family, fandom and themselves. I've thought about these conversations so much since reporting www.cnn.com/2026/02/01/s...
I had fun with sports betting for the blink of an eye, realized how easy it would be to lose my money, and backed away like I had touched a stove. It's ruinous.
The Athletics' lineup graphic today vs. San Diego, with an action photo of Brent Rooker at the bat.
Something I love about spring training: The A's lineup, in a game they're going to televise, has their No. 3 starter and 7/9 of the Opening Day starting lineup. Batting 8th is a top prospect likely to be called up by May.
And batting 9th is an 18-year-old who hasn't played above the DSL. Let's go.
They faced each other last year. Tommy singled.
Wait - that's not what I appreciate most.
What I appreciate most is high-quality, fired-up, edge of the seat baseball in electric atmospheres.
What I appreciate most about the WBC is how it showcases the spectrum of what baseball can be, on the field, in the dugout, in the stands.
The feel from three days in Mesa with the A's:
- Max Muncy 2.0 is primed to break out.
- Henry Bolte and Gage Jump will debut sooner rather than later.
- Leo De Vries is playing up to expectations.
- Tommy White is exceeding expectations and could have a big year ahead.
Hall of Famers with Diamondbacks Randy Johnson is the primary Baseball Hall of Famer who played a significant portion of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, getting inducted in 2015. While other Hall of Famers like Roberto Alomar and Alan Trammell briefly played for Arizona, they were not inducted for their time with the team. Key Hall of Famers Associated with the Diamondbacks Randy Johnson (Inducted 2015): Johnson is the only player in the National Baseball Hall of Fame to be enshrined with a Diamondbacks logo. He played for the team from 1999-2004 and 2007-2008, winning four consecutive Cy Young Awards (1999โ2002) and a World Series co-MVP (2001). Other Hall of Famers who played for Arizona: Roberto Alomar (2011 Inductee) Alan Trammell (2018 Inductee)
I cannot take AI seriously when it's shoved forward to tell me Alan Trammell played for Arizona.
High level baseball owns.
Otto!!

this is the work of A Hero
Crushed it, man. The WBC puts you and Ryan on the stage you belong.
My goodness, just watch this cut of Darell Hernaiz's walk-off and the ensuing chaos in San Juan
I'm so glad
You could've done playdates with them!
I love those two guys being teammates in the WBC.
Plus, they took on great human/former Lugnut Graham Spraker on Team GB.
Bad industry, great game
The World Baseball Classic is the closest we get to the FA Cup for baseball.
They're still omnipresent in the minors, thankfully
See that's what I'm talking about
Oh no, that didn't put geopolitics aside at all, sorry.
I'll have a soft pretzel with mustard.
Further evidence that American Jews are not the same as Israel, regardless of the composition of the roster.
They couldn't just do a Hebrew National hot dog and said, hey, apply condiments as you see fit.
