Because of their work, Metro have received The King’s Award for Voluntary Service - the highest possible award for a UK charity, equivalent to an MBE. It reflects their inspiring efforts in running adaptive social and sports events for hundreds of visually impaired people.

For over 50 years, Metro Blind Sport have been providing opportunities for people who are blind or partially sighted, of all ages and abilities, to take part in many different sports and activities across Greater London and the surrounding areas.

The multi-bank remains open between 1pm and 7pm everyday until this Friday for people to donate and support the Nottingham-based organisation, as well as the club's community #HomeForChristmas campaign.

Below a large screen showing the Nottingham Forest football club logo, there is a stage containing more than 30 plastic crates and plastic bags containing items donated to the community multi-bank.

The @alanmarchsport.bsky.social team enjoyed helping get the multi-bank underway in the Fan Zone and Stadium on Saturday, hearing from the community, as well as interviews with Uzair Hashmi from the Himmah organisation.

By the end of the match, the collection was already going well.

Our contribution of food, household and hygiene products kicked off the Himmah x Nottingham Forest multi-bank on Saturday, which was generously supported by Forest fans.

Contributions will be collected and weighed, before being matched by club owner, Evangelos Marinakis.

This December, we are proud to have chosen Himmah as our Charity of the Month.

The Nottingham-based organisation, which has partnered with Nottingham Forest for their #HomeForChristmas campaign, have a mission to tackle food poverty, racism and educational inequalities.
