I wouldn't be who I am today without the time I spent writing for Bitch. I miss it so much, and I'm so glad writers and editors are carrying on its legacy in new forms. "now more than ever" is a cliche but we really do need feminist media right now, desperately.
it was an honor at the time to see how much it resonated with people — and it's continued to be an honor over the years to have writers I work with bring it up, or students tell me they read it in class. it truly means so much <3
I originally wrote this piece for Bitch back in 2021. So grateful to @freeblackgirl.bsky.social and @theflytrapmedia.com to see it back in print again <3

This week's reprint from the Bitch archives is an updated read from @cohaug.bsky.social on care economies, romantic love, and building more sustainable ways of taking care of each other.
helped pull together a little roundup of @xtramagazine.com contributors and editors' fave songs from (mostly) queer/trans artists! my takeaway: violins are IN. and thank god for that.

This is the best vibe report!! Ahhhh very sorry to be on the other side of the world right now, but cherishing the report even more because of that.
Call for sources from one of our @xtramagazine.com fellows:
"Are you a teacher, ed worker, or librarian in Alberta? I’m writing about how education workers are working with/around the recent anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and book bans. Reach out to alicep.boyle@gmail.com if you're open to speaking."
thank u! :)
i wrote a vibe report for ORB!
ICYMI: The gender gap isn't between "normal" men and the freaks of Gen Z, nor even between men and women -- it's about people who want a return to "normal" gender and those who don't: xtramagazine.com/power/politi...
@cohaug.bsky.social paid tribute to CRJ's love of the fantasy, and how the album perfectly captures the depth of swimming in a crush xtramagazine.com/culture/musi...
chatted w/ arabelle sicardi about beauty, labor, power, terror:
"I wanted to try and understand aesthetic communication as a conversation around access and community."

ICYMI: Over at Xtra, I wrote about the Trump administration cutting funding to the Trevor Project and gutting mental health services for queer youth: xtramagazine.com/health/menta...
For a story I'm editing: I'm looking for American queer and trans people who are considering relocating to Canada (or are already here, or have already decided to) as sources. Can be anonymous in the piece.
