He can't read, what do you want from him?
Yeah I agree for the most part. Our roster in 22 was full of bloat. That's a rough hand to play as a rookie GM.
Ned's had to turn over essentially a whole roster, deal with GW fallout, and I think he's doing well so far.
However I do have to deduct mad points for fumbling the bag with Evander.
I bet he likes dogs too. Does that mean I can't like them now either?
I think this is a baby step in that direcciΓ³n, amigo.
The only supernatural thing about trump is the skeleton in his closet.
MLS is Back was first
Sprint Cup is next
All your weird trophies are belong to us
Yeah, I love his attitude, energy, and how he'll stand up for his teammates.
I'm not sold on him as a #1 player in this league, but it does appear that he can ball. Time will tell.
Oh damn I thought y'all were bad bc your owner is bad. My bad.
L take. How is having monopoly on the top flight soccer in North Americas 8th largest city a drain on the league?
No, the issue is the TFC owner doesn't give a shit about investing.
Ok - read a lot of timbers news today, and here's my read:
* Timbers are switching to the 2DP/4U22 model. Good. We are a smol market, with a bad academy.
* Like it or not, we're building around Velde. Meh.
* We're trying to do right by the old guys, but also get rid of bad contracts. Good. #RCTID
What do we think of Trump?!
Shit!
What do we think of Shit?!
Trump!
Also, idk...damning feels too strong.
For me, it's more of a confirmation that we're building around Velde and not DDC. Which is a decision I can't say I fully disagree with.
And to build something right, you need to know what you're really working with. I don't mind the approach.
Oh for sure - and for different reasons, which is kind of interesting.
Gio was an incredible communicator, and had a very defined system. Game management is where he floundered. Probably helpful but not super impactful as far as recruiting talent.
Phil is the inverse.
Sounds like a great time of year to get a bunch of your Latin American friends, tell them to put on shorts, and kick a ball around. I'm sure they'll love it and play really beautiful soccer and not get hurt more.
Yeah it did seem like Gio was out of ideas.
But what kind of ideas can a coach even execute with Niezgoda and Nathan are your starting strikers?
Remember when Wild Bill Tuiloma was our leading goalscorer for like half a season? Good times.
There's no way Ned actually believes that - right?
P sure it means "get fucked, we have the leagues cup" ππ
So silly. #RCTID
Can the Timbers go back down? Damn.
Yes, and then they ignored us.
Getting rid of Gio was so reactionary and so dumb. Yeah, we stunk his last 2 years here...but his roster was HOT GARBAGE.
Sounds like we're gonna let Zup hit the market and make him a counteroffer?
I don't mind that. He's a legend, still a good player, and I'd love to see him retire with us...but not on anything close to $725k/yr.
But I also hope he makes as much money as he can on his last meaningful contract, so π€·
BIG BIG BIG +1 to Espinoza. Guy shreds us every year.
Give him a big ol' bag of money and a $15m release clause let's gooooo
He's Here!
He's There!
He's here another year!
