Someone just posted about how they don't care if their students use AI as long as the text conveys the ideas the students meant to convey. The thing is, you don't know exactly what you think until you write it. And if some prefab thing pops up, you're liable to decide that was what you thought.

Nimby hypocrisy is the worst!

Dealt with this last month in our county when the NIMBYs who wanted to block a golf course becoming townhomes cried that the units "weren't affordable enough" and then IMMEDIATELY embraced a Republican-led bill that would have turned the townhomes into SFHs instead.

Some NIMBYs have figured out that if they oppose projects on "not affordable enough" grounds, they might be able to convince themselves that they're not selfish. But it's always a lie. They'd oppose the project even more if it drew poorer people to the area or injected condos among their McMansions.
