Or simply use nuclear for baseload (together with a ~30-35% renewables) and avoid all these matters and many others.

Oh ok. Got it. Bye.
Erm... do you even know what are you writing and where do you agree and disagree with me? Nope. Bluesky seems too "heavy" for you. Kind reminder: You are not on X.
This is what happens when the world is ruled by a "fifa peace prize winner" and a war criminal. "Why in the world would they hit a school?". Because they can and they want. They are war criminals for a reason. They are sick. They are not humans.
A new era in night sky observation, astronomical discoveries and cosmic exploration begins!
Yeap. I wish I was there at least in one of them. Some friends of mine were there though and shared these events ๐

2 #waterspouts at 1530 and 1700 local time and a #funnel cloud over land at 1320 (with possible brief touch down, not confirmed), near #Athens intl. airport and E. Attica, yesterday. #Thunderstorm also in the city with lots of #hail at the southern suburbs.
Well, this is the "million dollar question"! If the weather system is not severe, then dust intrusion is likely to dry it out reducing precipitation. In severe cases, dust seems to boost the system with more lightning and rain. It is as if there is a "severity threshold".
Experts say, it is. And they often present it as "one of the good things" during dust transfers.
Almost ๐ ๐

#SaharanDust #AfricanDust #Dust in #Athens GR today, from 06-11 UTC/08-13 EET. This used to happen during late Spring. Now, we can have it on any month and the intensity as well as the frequency rises.
This is a real timelapse video of the Moon transiting in front of the Earth.
It was captured by the Artemis 1 Orion spacecraft in November 2022 while flying at it's furthest point from the Earth.
The video covers about 3.75 hours of real time. ๐ญ๐งช

Cool! Far from lights (and humans ๐ ) Can't wait for your shots from there!
Yes please! โ๏ธโ๏ธ
It seems we've traded seasons. Here, we are experiencing one of the warmest winters ever (till now it's the 2nd since 1850s).
Another monster with guns and "power".
๐ก and I'm sure this is everyday routine for these monsters with guns.
If the rest of the area (out of the port) is relatively dark, you might "save" it. If the port lights are led, I would search for another location. Also the access to the point is another problematic thing. I hope you will find a great spot eventually!
You need fast lens, this is one thing for sure. f/n with n under 2.0. I use lenses with f/1.4. Then, a dark location, without lights, clouds and moonless nights are ideal. Fast exposures are ideal (under 5'') or video (~25fps). ISO depends on the darkness of your location and the exposure time.
The second connects to the cloud too (to the existing leading jet). So, it seems more like a GJ. But I prefer to leave that to experts. I want to learn more about it too. The secondary jets/trolls usually look as if they have no connection to the cloud, so I'm not so sure.
I hope that too. It's very interesting. It looks as a "re-brightening" of the GJ through the "still open plasma pathway".
Hmm or maybe not. You are right, there is a second GJ (looks like) appearing *after* the trailing jet of the first. That's interesting! I will search more about it. Looks like the "re-brightening" in sprite events.
Me neither. It is the trailing jet which appears after the primary, fully developed jet. From space it is so clear and sharp. It indeed looks like a "double GJ".
What a beauty! Gigantic jets stem from the thundercloud's top and reach the lower ionosphere. They are ~80 km tall ๐คฉ
Oh yes! Fantastic capture! Thank you!
I saw what happened and I have no words. I hope... you know what I hope. They should arrest and ... this gang. All of them. There will be no peace without justice. I hope that they will see their end approaching and to know that they can do nothing to avoid it.
Was about time. Too late though. But, better late than never.
Lovely frame. I love the color, the mood and the details of the branches
A map with spots of successful observations of the aurora on Jan. 19, 2026 from Greek-based observers. Also, there is a grey area on the map, pointing out where cloud coverage was significant thus making aurora observation not possible.
