They should put a monkey on the £50 note and a pony on the £10 note to confuse the hell out cockneys.

I would much rather live in the quiet times myself! Somewhere in the middle of Les Trente Glorieuses would have been nice.

I have a 10 year old daughter, I spend enough time covered in glitter that if I wasn't comfortable with my sexuality I would have gone insane by now! 😂 I have coached primary-aged rugby while looking like I am going on Strictly!

Sometimes the chain would break the tether and not set off the mine, which would float to the surface. This is why they had rifles - they took turns shooting at the mine until it blew up.

My granddad served on a minesweeper in WW2, clearing the Malacca Straits in 1945. All wooden hulls, unarmed except for a couple of rifles. The 'sophisticated' minesweeping of the times involved dragging a big chain up and down the straits in line abreast until it set off a mine.

No, but my org has a fairly aggressive firewall so it might have been blocked.

She is one of my all time heroes. Proof that intellectual brilliance doesn't have to be accompanied with arrogance, unlike many of her male peers (not to mention many male scientists not fit to type up her lab notes).

You win, you got the last HoL PM - that is a difficult top trumps card to beat!

Those adults turn 30 next year. There are also adults in the workplace who were born after Tony Blair left office. I was still measured in months when Harold Wilson quit as PM. Harold Wilson!

Targeting a school because ChatGPT told you it was a military base is a war crime. Anyone who says otherwise is pandering.

Well Trump is now threatening civilian infrastructure in Iran if they continue to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed so there is that.......

10.03.2026 09:49 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Keep saying that until the B-2 bombers currently based in the UK are used to bomb Iranian civilian targets because Trump is throwing a tantrum over the Straits of Hormuz.

A reminder for anyone who doesn't know - the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure is a war crime. Any order to do so is, by definition, illegal.

I came late to rugby. In 1980s Castlemilk it just wasn't on the agenda. Ironically, it was a bunch of English squaddies got me into it.

I had my formative years in the 80s and it just put me off altogether. I have absolutely zero attachment to football. The "its football or nothing" approach in Glasgow almost put me off sport altogether.

09.03.2026 17:36 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Exactly. The Old Firm and sectarian violence is the reason why I never got into football despite being a man from the sou'side of Glasgow where it is practically like breathing.

Most Glaswegian response ever - the Solid Rock on Hope St is closed today and punters have replied to the message asking them to start a tab they can contribute to for the firefighters once this is all over.

Afghan women are hardcore. I remember during the Karzai gov they allowed women to compete in Buzkashi for the first time and a woman won. The men then decided to keep it separate.........

No worries, I was equally dismissive so apologies all round! Funny thing - in the end we are probably a lot closer on this than we thought!

08.03.2026 17:50 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

They are the reason I don't follow football. I grew up in the sou'side of Glasgow in the 80s and the sectarianism put me off for life.

But they don't have a firm grip on the SFA's testicles the way the OF do!

08.03.2026 17:13 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

And it is unfair on other football clubs to suffer because of those two but they have an outsized influence on the football world in Scotland.

Rugby fans don't invade the pitch and pelt each other with smoke bombs to be fair!

08.03.2026 17:10 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

If we single out the old firm for a ban they will complain. Both sets of fans have a mad victim complex. Given their financial dominance, the SFA would swing behind them. "Nobody gets a drink" is easier to defend than "everyone but them". Look at how the crackdown on sectarian language went.
