Capital over constituents every time
Capital over constituents every time
How about introducing a bill to increase federal spending on a clean energy transition you stupid stupid motherfuckers
Things are not back to normal. But support is waning. Once again, we take care of us.
It’s day 98 of the ICE occupation of MN.
For almost 100 days, we’ve been doing everything we can to protect our immigrant neighbors. This is the next step to keeping our neighbors safe.
Call on Mayor Frey to sign the 60 day pre-eviction notice.
Which false spring was this today? false spring 2? 3??
When I relax my idea of “the left” and think instead of “all the people who dropped whatever they were holding and started helping their neighbors with whistles and rent and food and rides,” I think we have a chance to be whatever the opposite of cooked is.
Is this better or worse than the gigantic pothole by my house with the top of an orange cone poking out of it? 🤔
Universal design is a beautiful thing that helps everyone!
It turns out Harry Belafonte was not making up the thing about tarantulas lurking in bunches of bananas!
Personally I would *also* count it as good news that it wasn't a tarantula.
(The only time I found one in my house it was extremely dead but the experience still left me sort of emotionally scarred.)
Imagine if you single handedly had the power to delay thousands of evictions & keep families in their homes. Jacob Frey can do that by signing what Council passed yesterday. Or he can help evict thousands of people with a veto.
Let him know what you would do: www.minneapolismn.gov/government/m...
Joke's on the economy I already don't have a job
WHEN: Monday, March 9, 10:00 am Where: Saint Paul Dethloon The blight on Midway that was the former CVS on Snelling and University is going to be demolished on Monday. Come celebrate! Bring a chair. Bring treats to share. Bring a musical instrument. Bring and share with friends. Bring your senior prom dress. Bring your toddler. Most of all, bring joy and your love for Saint Paul! If you are able, consider making a donation to Keystone Community Services, a legacy organization providing assistance to those in need for nearly a hundred years. I'm not sure yet how to do this safely and securely, but I'll get it figured out by Monday. NOTE: Start time is based on hearsay, and will be updated when I can find specific information.
Invite your friends! I have a pretty small #SaintPaul #St.Paul #StPaul reach here, so please share. Let's make this a demolition to remember.
pendulums gonna swing?
The WH reporter for the NYT thinks “that’s the way it is” = expressing condolences. 😳
It’s time to pass Pause Evictions, Save Lives in Minneapolis. Currently, renters receive a 30-day notice prior to a landlord filing an eviction.
This ordinance would temporarily expand this timeline to 60 days through August 30, 2026.
The first vote is at Committee of the Whole on Tuesday. 1/
i am laughing so hard at the fact that Johnson just posted it with credit to who took it, leaving no doubt as to where the leak was and providing ample evidence for censure.
I’d really like to see this particular fund- for the neighborhood where Renee Good was murdered and ICE goons abducted many- infused with funds.
🌻🌻🌻
Even if ICE pulled out, fully, tomorrow, there are thousands of families that were not able to work in February because of their presence and their threat, thousands of people who are not going to be able to pay their rent on March 1st.
I'll admit, editing the crontab *is* a pain.
extraordinary times. I wonder if a state has ever redirected federal tax revenues to say, support its own residents under attack from federal overreach
Just sent $50 to this. Great way to help even if you don’t live here in the Twin Cities.
OMG yes WHYYYYYYYY
If you live in MN, please write to Walz TODAY. Short message is fine. Just say something along the lines of "We've fought so hard for our neighbors. It is time you do so too. A short-duration eviction moratorium is URGENT. We have *three* days till the next rent is due. Evictions will tear us apart"
Wow, I don't even really know what to say about this. It's gutting.
This is where immigration enforcement has been happening.
This is why my neighbors haven’t left home in 2 months.
ICE out, everywhere. A “drawdown” to 900+ is not enough.
No matter where you live, if you have any capacity to volunteer, we have a lot of unpaid folks helping administer rent and skymiles donations, and we need more support.
This is Minneapolis:
The Signal chats are as busy as ever, with fewer rapid response/observer needs but THOUSANDS of Minneapolis folks trying to fundraise rent for our neighbors.
Again.
It feels impossible to try to raise this much money yet again, but we have to try.
everyone loved the tech industry's free music and friendship machines of 20-30 years ago. it's unclear what could be causing people to feel the opposite about the industry's new racism and insanity machine
