Would it be possible to freeze the leaderboard at the end of the season for the major and then keep SendouQ going for the end of the season as a preseason or something that impacts MMR for the start of next season, and have that start when the ranked season does on the 1st of the month ❤️🥹

Decided to reopen my metafy with 1 on 1 sessions and full team VOD reviews. My sessions are mainly targeted towards the Midlevel area and I will not be looking at any X Rank VOD's etc as it just isn't for me I feel 🙏 #compsplatoon metafy.gg/@isjared

Can we not have sendouq end early. Nobody really pings for scrims and we just lose a way to play the game. Maybe a preseason or something to help with seeding ranks

Yeah I kinda get that, ideally it's only people that are more serious about improving and already have a little bit of experience with competitive in some way, doesn't matter the level tbh. I guess it'll just take a little bit of figuring it out since it's new and hopefully everyone learns a bit

I've had quite a few requests for coaching in the past month so I decided to create a metafy. This is the best way for me to provide high quality individual coaching with my limited time. Feel free to book a session if you're interested metafy.gg/@hexen-hxn/s...

Metafy might be the way to go. Not the best platform but it actually makes coaching a viable option for your time. I legit just made an account

This is by no means saying that it's going to be successful your first, second, or even third attempt. You'll learn something from every experience and grow from there. Yes, players will ego you and think you're bad. You're the only one that can prove them wrong. I did it. Why can't you?

Where does that leave us? You have to be the change that you want to see in your life. Do you expect 3 of your ideal players to group up together and ask you? That's lofty thinking. Find people you genuinely enjoy playing with, think are good, and have the same goals as.

Lastly, a love for the game. Everyone wants to play, on their own and especially together. Without the work ethic, how can you as individuals and a group ever expect to exceed your expectations? Even if you're the best, it's only a matter of time until you're surpassed by those who want it more

Second, strong leadership. Everyone should have input, but a main "captain" and a co-captain was the optimal structure for me on Deadbeat with Penguitt helping me flesh out the details. For teams that exist now, Grey from PxG and Ice from Milky Way are the best examples of doing this successfully

First, similar goals and mindsets. This one is absolutely huge. If anyone is not on the same page, it'll fail. Do you want to be the best? Do you just want play for fun? You can't just say "I want to win" and not put in the effort, everyone has to fulfill their obligations and work together

I saw many teams rise and fall during this period. FTWin, Kraken Paradise, Starburst, and a few more. A lot of the players are still around but with different rosters. There are definitely some key themes that kept these teams at the top for so long

I stepped away for some time, only really coming back to practice for 3 days with FTWin and win the 2019 NA Championship. Only to realize yet again, I still didn't enjoy the game and stepped away for several years mostly just coaching and playing occasionally until mid 2024

The rise and fall of Deadbeat/StDx had commenced. As everything does, such is life. I realized I simply wasn't having fun anymore. It became too serious for me. Overall, I wasn't even enjoying the game at its core anymore. I've come to realize that if you aren't having fun, it's not sustainable

I learned a lot from this era, truthfully, because it was painful. I learned about myself, my teammates, team dynamics, everything. I never really processed it until it was over though. I could have been a much better leader, teammate, and friend. To all of my teammates, I apologize for my behavior.

Eventually our roster changed and so did the dynamics of our team. We got sponsored, expectations changed, the scene changed. Everything changed. At first everything went pretty well, there's not much to complain about when you're winning. Eventually, our team caved in on itself

Deadbeat was by far my most successful and enjoyable time playing Splatoon competitively. I become a little bit nostalgic just thinking about it. I love all my teammates from that era dearly

We played a few scrims, the talks about how we could improve were thoughtful and productive, and we quickly became a very strong team that ended up winning tons of tournaments and eventually Worlds.

I reached out to a few players I thought were good, underrated, and shared a similar mentality and goals as me. I started with the proposition "let's play a japanese tournament together" and reached out to Tim, Penguitt, and Power. I played with Tim before, but never talked to Penguitt or Power

I kinda stopped playing the game while the scene just had a few new teams rotate into the top like Chimera and Shinka. I thought "I could beat these guys" and the game seemed fun again so I wanted to give it another shot.

When I first started playing in S1 I played with exultance (imperious) with some personal connections I had but the team was already kind of on the way out by then. Afterwards I tried to play with several of the top teams but more or less got ego'd. I was in a limbo for several months after that

This kinda goes along with the whole mid level discussion going on rn. Maybe laying out my personal experience with competitive teams will help some other ppl.

Idk cuz i don't play tetra but heavy sounds good but not a fan of wiper cuz tetra and wiper do the same thing in that comp probably a strong midline like sblast and another midline that paints at least a little bit

As a former Heavy Splatling player, this update is so insanely liberating on that weapon. It kills AND paints again finally after several years. I'm definitely interested in at least trying it in comp again
