Agree. ^_^
A thoroughly stupid pencil sketch of a Beholder beast from Dungeons and Dragons. It is holding a hand-mirror in one tentacle and seems to be admiring itself in the mirror while wearing false eyelashes and lipstick. (Doubtless it someday hopes to be accepted as a contestant on a show called Dungeons and Drag Races.)
Today in human-generated art: Beauty Is In the Eye of the Beholder
It can be taken both ways, unfortunately. During my life time there were decades when American violence abroad genuinely seemed to have no negative connection to American freedoms/privileges on the home front.
That changed 25 years ago, and things have gotten steadily worse ever sinceβ¦
"Give us stories of satellites and sewists, terminals and tailors, dandies and dying stars.
Give us gossip wicked and vital, dinner parties salacious and droll, debutantes vile and intrepid.
Give us unforgivable rudeness and oppressive etiquette, scathing asides and dire gaffes."

Sorry, are Americans βfreeβ?
Last I heard they were getting dragged off to camps and shot on the street by their own government for *checks notes*: βdriving a car while protestingβ, βdriving a car while NOT protestingβ, and βtrying to help women who are knocked down by violent fascist goonsβ.π
The generation of hellscapes like this is one of the truly unforgivable war crimes that have taken place during my time on this Earth. Directly or indirectly America is always to blame when it happensβSaddam would not have done it in 1991 if not for Americaβs invasion.
Fair enough. Very few television or film settings deal honestly with any form of labor.
Just a note to fellow #indiedev and #gamedev folks who get re-skeeted by the bots when you use our hashtags: if I see you using Gen AI workflows or serving as a Gen AI evangelist, I block you.
Big Tech has put 375,000 people out of work across multiple industries.
You are sleeping with the enemy.
Musk's tweets/retweets about the trial have been an issue for the judge in this case. In court this morning, Justice Breyer raised the issue that these kinds of posts could bias the jury if they inadvertently came across them. Today he asked jurors if they had seen any publicity related to the case.
This is to say: if you're an attorney who's hesitated to take on habeas cases because you think you lack the knowledge, or you're worried about whether you'll really help, I PROMISE you can make a difference. I'm just a dipshit with a 7-year-old laptop and a bad attitude. If I can do it, so can you.
This puts me at 10 people released. I filed my 1st habeas petition 29 days ago. I am an incredibly small-time, nobody lawyer who knew nothing about immigration law the day I submitted that case. I barely know any more today. I had never sued the federal government and now I've beaten them 10 times.
Mainstream America: We are obsessed with Heated Rivalry and Drag Race. We love them and can't get enough.
American Democrat politicians: LGBT people are not culturally normal. We will not speak of them.
I was in Tehran this time last year. I want you to see how beautiful my city is. I want you to see the city the US/Israel is trying to wipe off the face of the earth
Four skeins of hand-dyed yarn in a rich deep teal green colorway called BC Jade.
Five skeins of hand-dyed DK weight yarn in a vibrant golden green colorway called Ceremonial Matcha.
Re-stock in progress: BC Jade and Ceremonial Matcha colorways on my Simple DK base.π§Ά

A cross-stitch bookmark on a piece of 14-count Aida banding. It depicts a blue happy monster wearing spectacles and knitting a vibrantly magenta and purple blanket. The thread used is very bright and shiny, as the embroidery floss is hand-dyed silk rather than cotton.
First stitch test complete! I made a prototype of my first cross stitch bookmark design, using my hand-dyed silk colours.
In the end I really do like the design, but I think the final colour of the blanket will probably be a cooler purple.π§Ά
Even if it did, the world absolutely doesnβt need tougher people.
Wow. Thatβs saying a lot.
Interesting. I always assume that theyβre about the fear colonizers have that someone will do to them what they have done to others.
Are you talking about the OP?
As stated, Iβm mystified by the MAGA desire to return to a world of yesteryear. They love everything about the past that sucked (measles, racism, sexism, homo/transphobia) and hate anything that was better (unions, living wages, taxing the rich, funding the arts).
Yeah, Iβm old enough to have watched conditions and parenting improve steadily for every generation since mine, honestly. Iβm really happy about it and it bewilders me why anyone would want to go backward in time, much less to fucking 1933 or whenever this MAGA shit is supposed to be.
Maybe the reason that I donβt want to see the world burn is that the only universal Gen X childhood experiences in my circle are things like βfind something dead or a cache of disturbing magazine porn in the woodsβ or βcreamed corn in a plastic tray for lunchβ.
Letβs Make America Gross Again, sure.
My Gen X playground was a ravine full of rusting metal and discarded beer bottles, so yeah. Not really identifying much with this millennial fantasy.
Jesus Christ, this. The only thing worse was everything else.
I had a good friend who was a producer at Pixar for many years and she peaced out a couple years ago and everyone was shocked because the place looks amazing from afar but she said the absolute wrong people are making decisions and I guess that makes more sense now
βHe was not protestingβ is a shitty frame for this story. It strongly implies that the US government has every right to straight up MURDER protesters for protesting, which they absolutely do not.
Survival skills for the modern internet.
