I tried replaying some of the great games from my childhood. I came away with a lot of "Actually, this is fucking dogshit!" The amount of bullshit "anti-fun" and sudden spikes in difficulty/complexity was ridiculous.

Also I used to say "fuck" and "fucking" a fuckload more than I do these days.
Episode of a podcast I was on came up on my playlist. 30 seconds in, upon hearing myself speak and started cringing, and it didn't stop until I skipped it. This happens every time a random episode of that podcast comes up.
Almost as disconcerting are the "gamers" that take mirth in it happening.
You know, if my account on your service is over 18 years old, maybe you can skip asking me to verify my age.
"I HATE CURLING!"
My six year old is sobbing and wailing because Sweden beat the US at curling.
Big moment for Europe: in December, fully electric cars outsold petrol-only cars in the EU for the first time.
This shows that clear, consistent policy works. Which is exactly why backtracking now would be a mistake. Rolling back targets or creating uncertainty would slow investment and innovation.

So, 10 hour video?
Beyond parody
This one's for you @gailsimone.bsky.social , though obviously not about you.
Just read a diatribe by an artist I used to be fond of, one in which he cements himself as unchanging, immutable and unforgiving. I thought to myself, "Imagine being the same exact person today that you were when you woke up yesterday. How embarrassing."
Oh it's cancelled. Nice.
Was going to jump into the Friday morning zoom meeting, but I'm 30 mins late now.
Thankfully, a great coffee from wife to mitigate the incoming caffeine headache.
Woke up at at 11AM. Watch said, congratulations on my 7.5 hours of sleep. Yeah it was that kind of night. Still tired too.
My life improved massively when I stopped using twitter, so despite being "terminally online" I thankfully never got to bask in most right wing shithousery
I would never have known how much of a POS he was if not for the "behind the bastards" podcast.
I wanna say, he should have stuck around for one more year and we could have all just replied to the news with "nice" but that would also be one more year of him making this hell hole worse.
Didn't even have the courtesy to make it one more year so I could say "nice."
My youngest: "IT'S CHRISTMAS!"
Woke my oldest up for his late night toilet trip. On the way back to his bed I made him go look out the window and got a "WOOOOOOOW! THANKS FOR SHOWING ME DAD!" To be clear, I hate snow. I've been tired of it since the first time I had to shovel my parent's cars out, but that shit is magical to him.
I'm sorry but WHAT?
I always forget livejournal was a thing until livejournal emails me to let me know that my old enough to drink (in the US) account is another year older.
You always knew it was going to be a dogshit episode of Tom and Jerry when you heard that roar followed by "Meow! Meow! Hiss! Hiss!"
Not necessary obviously, but I'd be keen to hear your words on it when you shut the last page of issue 14.
@cwtycho.penny-arcade.com Please read absolute Superman. I'm begging you! FUCKING PLEASE! It's all good, but issue 14 (a good place to wrap the series up) makes it all twice as good!
meanwhile.... medicine has taken INSANE leaps and bounds in the last 2 years.
we're out here curing HIV and leukemia and creating 100% efficacy vaccines against all sorts of cancers, and now this??
between this and renewable energy outstripping fossil fuels in efficiency, the future is bright
I've only fought two bosses, but man, even just entering the castle in the first game was an experience. I still listen to the first game's soundtrack to this day. youtu.be/O8J4pTNZFjc...
