This might be the greatest split-screen ever broadcast.
Theyβll play this in museums in future.

It might be because very few of the people responsible for the fiasco of the Iraq war, from the politicians who lied to justify it, to the pundits who manufactured consent for it, to the people who committed war crimes on the ground, were ever held accountable for any of it.
of course, the ns govt supports *businesses*, not *people*.
Nova Scotia has the same problem, inflicted by a conservative government that created the conditions to enable itself to dismantle social goods.
I can only bless Tim Houston that at least the billionaire yacht race is still being funded.
10 hyphens? In this economy? Extravagant.
Whoever made the paper mache head with bozo on it, please know I want to buy you a beer. This made my day. Lol. #nspoli
WHAT!?
Asked how he can justify maintaining SailGP funding in the face of budget cuts, Houston told @timbousquet.bsky.social:
βIt all comes down to, you know, letβs see, what are the opportunities to grow the province? What are the opportunities? Theyβre just decisions that are made, always examined..."
"Irans Red Crescent Society said nearly 800 people have been killed so far, 170 of them are said to be children"
Fun fact: bridge toll removal and 1% HST reduction cost us appx $300 million.
All of the devastating cuts in the current budget?
$300 million.
Is your 1% HST cut worth the loss of tourism, arts & culture, educational quality and wildlife conservation in NS?
Premier divides NS up at the joints for quick sale.
My grandfather fought fascism, and so will I.
Conservative government playbook: break the system, declare it broken by liberal policies, dismantle or sell off anything that is a public good. Itβs happening in every conservative-governed province.
Iβm feeling it.
He was not properly trained. He made a catastrophic error; but an error that people make all the time while driving. He stayed on the scene. He could have fought the charges, but chose not to go to trial to save the families the pain. Several families fought his deportation.
It is needlessly cruel.
The Immigration Board decision to deport Jaskirat Singh Sidhu is a disgrace. He took full responsibility for his mistake; pled guilty at his first opportunity; served a shockingly excessive sentence w/o complaint: and has a daughter who needs complex medical care.

Come on Nova Scotia, if you canβt be a leader then at least follow this good example.
βNot a lone wolf, but a poorly trained dog who escaped from the yardβ. A scathing characterization, a reframing that I hope gains traction.
When I worked in Mexico, the response βmaΓ±anaβ (βtomorrowβ), only meant βnot todayβ.

Seriously, the *whole fucking argument for the existence of governments at all* is that they solve the problem of paying for things that are necessary for society to function but can't easily be afforded by individuals, like firefighting, education, policing, healthcare and so on.
I'm not going to applaud the government for funding food banks because food banks are by definition, a policy failure π
