The loss at Crisler likely ruins any chance of getting to the 1 seed line, but falling to the 3 seed in the B1G tourney sets MSU up for a run (if they want it). No Illinois or UM until Sunday and getting to face UCLA (or my bet Minnesota) is a way easier path than whoever survives between IU/Purdue

Yea only having to face 1 of Nebraska/Purdue (on Saturday) and not facing Illinois or UM until Sunday is a pretty perfect setup. I also wouldn't be shocked to see UCLA fall to Rutgers or especially Minnesota as well

The only solace I can take from today's games is at least MSU gets a 3 seed & doesn't have to play either Purdue or IU their first game & instead gets likely either UCLA or Minnesota (or another go round with Rutgers). The path to a B1G tourney title is there, will be curious how hard they go for it

Washington's stalled comeback against Oregon means Minnesota sneaks into the 11 seed, which makes me nervous if MSU falls to the 3 seed. Would I rather see Minnesota than Purdue? Still yes, but Minnesota does make me nervous

When Nightingale was hired, MSU hadn't won an NCAA tourney game in 14 seasons, only made the tourney once & were 3-24 in conference tourney games over that span. Now they're back2back2back champs.
