My impressions of reading the patch notes. Will be funny to look back at but that's what I predict.

I'm considering dropping Darius even before Viennality which happens in 2 weeks. And I'm saying this as a slow learner. But now this character might actually be unplayable. I think Illaoi is probably the move instead. At least she doesn't look too hard to learn.

Yeah I just don't see how Ekko and Yasuo can be on the same tier given how Ekko's install has no counterplay and can even through every single defensive mechanic in the game (including burst), except for parry which risks you losing the game immediately on a 50/50

The first few sentences are part of the reason why I always have a negative bias against Capcom fighting games. That, and 2009-2013 attitudes, and even some people having that attitude with SF6 today.

2XKO revealing Akali and Senna at this moment was the right call. I know it happened because of a leak, but we really needed some kind of road that we could look forward to.

Most teams on fighting games post launch are smaller than 80 as they move to new projects. How do you think Arcsys makes multiple new games and maintains multiple running games with only a few hundred people?

Granted, I don't think that downsizing from 160 to 80 devs means that the game is dead. You don't need 6 champion designers to make 4-5 champs per year, and they're not looking to make a sequel. The messaging from Riot doesn't give much confidence into year 2+ though right now.

If 2XKO fails I might not play another fighting game seriously. The way the discourse around this game has been turns me off from the overall fighting game community. Same thing when I enjoyed NRS games. 2XKO is the most I ever enjoyed a fighting game.

Yeah it makes sense from Riot's perspective. Why have 6 designers work on champions in a 4-5 releases per year schedule when 2 people can do that?
