It feels good when you get to speak your truth.
A Texas A-F-T rally attendee holds up a sign that says "Say no to H-B 3. Say no to vouchers!"
Some lawmakers want to put vouchers on the ballot this November.
We are still #NoOnVouchers no matter what, but if the #TxLege canβt defeat a billionaire-backed push to weaken Lone Star State public schools, then the voters will.

Wheel of Time is saving my life right now.
Abbott is airing a pro-voucher panel on TV. Itβs a perfect plan because Texas public education workers canβt afford live TV thanks to him.

I will be there in Austin!

Iβm at writing conference listening and this guy talking about crafting memoir in essays. And I thought of you. Though you got ten years on him.
Earth Hour takes place at 8:30 p.m. local time Saturday and encourages people to turn off their lights for an hour to raise awareness about the environmental issues affecting the planet.
Artificial light can be a challenge for a subset of species: those that make their own glow.
When Trump makes the entire country like Texas, I guess Iβll be used to it. Silver lining?
I urge everyone to call your state legislator to let them know youβre against vouchers and any legislation that takes money from our public schools. And instead, do right by our educators and children and fully fund our public schools.
Well I did a thing with my amazing union. www.texasaft.org/government/t...
Whatβs happening at the department of education could mean I can no longer do the work I love. Please write your representatives. prod.cdn.everyaction.com/emails/van/E...
This man spoke the truth and advocated for public schools.
You did an amazing job asking the hard questions. I was there for 14 hours but glad I got to say my piece.
14 hours but I did it.
I just waited 14 hours in Texas to speak against vouchers and meanwhile the federal government did this ensuring I probably wonβt have a job next year supporting students in foster care and experiencing homelessness. Get me out of here. And back home to Massachusetts.
Well I didnβt get to read my full testimony but I did it. This is my full testimony. docs.google.com/document/d/1...
Still here. Waiting to testify.
Currently at the Texas Capitol testifying against yet another voucher bill that will defund our public schools.
I applaud this move, but her books are getting me through these dark times and I would like to live inside one forever. www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/books/a...
Frog statue of two frogs drinking wine on a bench one frog is broken off.
For reference.
I bought a statue of two frogs laughing and drinking wine for my yard and it arrived broken. Twice. So today I glued the frog back on that bench because I knew it would just arrive broken again. If this isnβt a metaphor for America I donβt know what is.
I think I should start doing hard drugs again. Fuck it. Weβre doomed.
Pass it on.

I shouldβve planned better for economic blackout day. I forgot to buy wine.
I called my dad to discuss my impending unemployment and his suggestion was that I should apply for disability. Also I can live with him but not with five cats. I suggested a shed in the backyard and he cited zoning laws. I think he thinks Iβm joking.
