Every cartoonist thinks about this. What if I lose my drawing hand? Can I learn to draw with the other? Doubtful. But Sack pulled it off... at age 72!

Here's the amazing part. Sack was forced to retire in 2022, when he lost use of his drawing hand, thanks to carpel tunnel.
But the re-installation of Piggy so outraged Sack, he taught himself to draw with his OTHER hand, and started cartooning again! Holy shit!
Sack started at the Star-tribune in 1981 (!!) and held that job for a jaw-dropping 41 years. He was always excellent, with a goofy distinctive style. Not derivative, like far too many US political cartoonists were in the same era. He's taken his work to a new level.

I just left a concert fundraising for the National Immigrant Justice Center to head to Broadview.
Here’s why:
It's the middle of the night in Chicago. Reporters and electeds are trying to figure out why a US citizen was detained by CBP, why her phone was inside an ICE detention center tonight, and where she is now.
Also unclear what happened to the other five people she was detained with at O'Hare airport.
