GitHub - pangenome/impg: implicit pangenome graph implicit pangenome graph. Contribute to pangenome/impg development by creating an account on GitHub.

We introduce the TracePoint Alignment (TPA) format to efficiently store and access alignments in this representation. The TPA format is already supported by IMPG (github.com/pangenome/impg), which can work directly with the tracepoint representation for pangenome queries.

Using our adaptive tracepoint representation, we can compress ~25k human-to-human alignments from ~940 GB to ~24 GB.

Thanks to everyone who joined the #HackPR25 biohackathon following the @humanpangenome.bsky.social annual meeting in #Memphis. We hacked on #pangenome representation and interrogation for "laptopable" pangenome-scale analyses. Accessible #pangenomics is coming!
