Really great to see pollution and danger removed from Oxford Street. Looking forward to access for people arriving on bikes and adapted cycles, especially disabled and elderly cyclists who may not be able to walk long distances. Hope good cycle access and parking are planned in from the beginning.
Wonderful to pop along to see these amazing women recognised for their work empowering other women to cycle. From Cycle Sisters' Samra Said, to the amazing Emily Chappell, to campaigner Jean Dollimore, these names on Santander Cycles are a recognition of people transforming lives through cycling πͺ

Actually no, there is a bend, so people donβt drive through much. The cracks and potholes were the main barriers to enjoyment. Building a cycle lane on the direct route, as per LTN1/20, would of course save time (this one takes 40% longer) but some authorities make more progress than others.
On the plus side, this road is meant to be part of a back-streets βcycle routeβ over which cyclists have been bumping for at least a decade. We are actually quite grateful. Baby steps.
90 people came to our Canons Park Picnic as part of #LondonCyclingFestival organised by @londoncycling.bsky.social and @harrowcyclehub.bsky.social with 17 @britishcycling.org.uk leaders bringing rides from #Harrow, #Brent and #Hillingdon. Thanks to the Friends of Canons Park and all #volunteers!

Many children tell us they want to walk or cycle to school but they are currently deprived of that choice because they donβt feel safe.
This week in Westminster, I led a debate on how we can make our streets safer and give children the freedom to travel actively to school.
Looking forward to seeing people at our Easter Wheels for All Fun Day - only 7 places left, at 12 noon so book up quick! Also free coaching taster session on two wheelers. bit.ly/HCHWheelsfor... #disability #inclusion #SEND #funday @communityconnex.bsky.social @johnlyonscharity.bsky.social #cycling

Group of adults and children on bikes enjoying sunshine
Group of adults and children on bikes by Headstone Manor moat
We had a fab time in the sunshine riding round Headstone Manor, with a nature trail kindly led by the Friends of the park and happy young cyclists! Thanks to all the committed volunteers who made this possible, and to the families for coming along. #harrow #kidscycling #familycycling #harrowparks
Thanks so much to Liz Sheridan, here with volunteer Darren, donating to us the trike which was used by her mother till the age of 99! Who says older people can't cycle? This will be much-appreciated by people using our #wheelsforall service. #inclusion #disability #beyondthebicycle #olderpeoplerock
Thanks @cyclinguk.bsky.social for bringing womenβs needs to the fore. If women cycle, everyone cycles. Itβs not just traffic engineers who are mostly male - elected council portfolio holders who manage roads, likewise.
Such a nice place to be!
This is fascinating - well worth watching. We certainly see motonormativity in #Harrow!
Such a great scheme. One of the key barriers to using adapted cycles is cost. Hope people in #Harrow will be able to take it up too. @communityconnex.bsky.social
