All you need now is some more depth. Chuck a gradient or two in the background then add some layers in-between that parallax!
Another super easy improvement would be to add some fog sprites and dust particles, the more layers the better!
This looks like it will be a bunch of fun!
I'm no grass expert but I've done quite a lot of googling over the years.
The biggest rule of thumb is to try and find the best balance between performance and quality!
