I'm so honored that the wonderful editors at @shopoetryjournal.bsky.social chose my work for the Sho Poetry Prize! I stopped writing for 15 years, and these Frida poems were some of the first things I wrote when I returned to poetry in 2024. I'm excited to share them when the new issue comes out!

Ekphrastic poems are some of the hardest for me to write, and this one--based on my daughter's favorite Frida Kahlo painting--was no exception! Thank you to the editors of @southeastreview.bsky.social for including it in their new issue.

I recently had an MRI during a week when my preschooler was listening to La Bamba on repeat. I'm so grateful to have a poem about that experience in the current issue of @epochliterary.com!
