Honestly, I am absolutely disgusted by academics suggesting that AI can do the reading and writing for you. At a certain point, what you're bragging about is fraud. And in a broader sense, what you're contributing to is the erosion of knowledge and the destruction of trust in academic publishing.

These AI bro (seems to always be bros) academics can't resist smugly announcing how mundane and unoriginal their research must be. For the record, there's zero chance AI could have done my PhD for me.

This attitude was so widespread, I found myself adapting it too back in the day. To fit in the community? To be validated? But it's reflection of inexperience, anger and petty.

The amount of belittling, vitriol and arrogance I see from the community each time a palaeontology-adjecent media project shows up. Guys, you don't come off as intelligent by demeaning individual production members, you just prove you've no experience working in media, and come of as mean spirited.
