i canβt stand the world we live in bc what do you mean weβre knee deep in a facist murderous regime but i gotta talk about my APP or else i canβt afford food???
i know i've been quiet since the new year but now i'm back! i have so many ideas for the future of Shutter Declutter. my goal is to go beyond deleting unwanted photos, and make the app perfect for getting your camera roll organized and sharing amazing memories β‘Μ
ok that explains a lot. after i launched my app there have been like 50 copycats and im so confused because they literally all look the sameβ¦
turns out ai is just feeding people ideas to vibecode π
fixing a bug today in shutter declutter iβm ashamed to have made in the first place
EVERY app should do this tbh
why are we trying to normalize this?
friendly reminder: my apps are NOT vibe coded.
i've been building apps since 2013 and have a genuine passion for building things the "old fashioned" way
if you enjoy all the ai stuff then you do you, but that's just not me
tip: make your backlog cute so you actually wanna fix the bugs
50% off apple tv? ok fine, time to see what this pluribus thing is about
the Shutter Declutter black friday sale is now live!
use the code `BLACKFRIDAY2025` in the "Redeem Code" section in the app settings or in the app store for 50% off
being an indie dev is hard. I got some negative feedback on one of my apps today and it put me in a bit of a moodβ¦
but just now I got a nice email from a customer saying how much they like my app and it kinda makes it all worth it :)
now we waitβ¦
iβll admit, I built Shutter Declutter because I thought I could handle it all at once, but
1) I got overwhelmed
2) I kept putting it off
3) I never actually did it, and then I ran out of space at the worst possible time
so doing it all at once is much easier said than done imo
panicked when they preferred a βtry to declutter everything all at onceβ method over my appβs βmake a habit to clean up your camera roll as you goβ approach. i considered how to make my app more viticci-friendly, but then I reminded myself everyone has different decluttering methods and thatβs okay!
cool to see @viticci.macstories.net mention Shutter Declutter mention in @macstories.net AppStories!

thereβs no better feeling than a customer requesting a feature youβve just released
me nervously testing my app before i submit to app review, in the hopes i catch any stupid mistakes before release
does anyone else name their phones? iβd like to introduce yβall to shelbie and valerie!
my app was featured in fast company and it perfectly describes why I built it
be like harry! tackle that photo library!

my friend just sent out ai art invitations π
i think i might have to get back into drawing so that i can save my friends from having to make slop
deleting all the halloween photos i took but donβt want anymore
gotta make room for the other holidays π
spooky times calls for spooky pics
iβm still amazed shutter declutter won second place π₯Ή
wow spider man is now on apple tv!
this isnβt gonna be confusing at all π
101 β β β β β reviews! Iβm still over the moon at how many people enjoy the app
and this is just the beginning. iβm working on a ton of big updates to be released soon
my app is live on product hunt! check it out and leave an upvote www.producthunt.com/products/shu...
OK, not even getting into the ethics or the existential issues around AI: Have some goddamn self-respect. If you're a writer and you do this I don't know how you look at yourself, but I know exactly how I look at you.
seeing a lot of posts of non-dev, non-power users using iOS 26 and completely hating it
personally i wouldn't say i hate it, but yeah it's a rough release for sure
not everyone knows how to navigate to settings to reduce transparency. i expect a ton of very confused users in the future π
missed it by ONE DAY but Shutter Declutter is now iOS 26 optimized!
this might be a π₯ take, but i didnβt want to put liquid glass all over the UI. i went with a more subtle approach. it feels much more accessible (and legible) this way
