I wrote a post for Miss Demeanors on the short fiction of Daphne du Maurier--dark, twisted, and unforgettable. And Stephen King feels the same way :) www.missdemeanors.com/why-daphne-d...
A new historical thriller is coming from an author I love, @nancycb.bsky.social, in April! See about it and the beautiful cover reveal on my website! π

Good advice
One of the reasons I'm less enthusiastic about Bluesky are the weird private messages from strangers I get here. "Hi. How are you today?" What about my profile says I'm easy to scam? Or is everyone getting them?
Congratulations to @carolgoodman.bsky.social !!

Ok I started this account about a year ago and haven't done much on it. Hoping with the influx of new people it will be more lively.
I wrote about how Goodreads is broken and how we could possibly fix it, and the NYT nailed the headline. www.nytimes.com/2023/12/24/o...
Yes! I wrote it in 2019 too. Very happy to see the flood of attention

I wrote a Christmas Ghost Story! Yep, my novella "The Ghost of Madison Avenue" takes place in NYC in December 1912 with the main character, Helen O'Neill, seeing things at the Morgan Museum. :) It's like The Gilded Age meets A Night At the Museum www.amazon.com/Ghost-Madiso...
Image shows the front of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, a gothic-style, red-brick facade; the facade is reflected in the water of the canal in the foreground.

I visited the Mills Mansion at Staatsburgh in the Hudson Valley yesterday. An amazing 1890s display of Gilded Age wealth and American aristocracy pride (the wife was a Livingston).

Definitely
He oversaw the deaths of so many. But yes I feel for anyone who begs for mercy. I wonder how Wolf Hall will handle that? It's not a "positive arc" to say the least
I didn't agree with 'Wolf Hall's depiction of Thomas Cromwell as a humane kitten cuddler and really didn't care for depictions of Thomas More, Jane Rockford or Princess Mary, but, having said that, I'm glad that a third 'Wolf Hall' is coming. Very good actors, intelligent script.
Pepys thought he knew what his wife got up to whilst he was out. He was wrong.
