Alas, shmups aren’t my thing either! For those into them I’ve heard it’s a go to. I’m addicted to Pyramid Magic at the moment, puzzle games are great

I think it’s different enough to be its own thing. Idk which is better. Mega Drive Sonic definitely has better presentation, and teases great speed in the first zone before pulling back for clunky levels. The Master System game leans more towards slow exploration. Idk which I prefer to be honest
Thanks! Controversial to say I know as Shinobi is regularly brought up to me, but I really don’t like it. I’ve got more Sega games on my radar, it’s certainly a journey!
Must be Schrödinger’s picture. It both is and isn’t Ai at the same time apparently! Using the same image on a different device yields different results. So nobody can actually tell anymore. At all.
What is this, Battlestar Galactica? What if I’m a cylon?
When people started accusing my avatar as “looking Ai” just by “using their eyes” I knew we’ve truly hit that point nobody can truly tell anymore.
Great stuff as always! I call shenanigans on these ai accusations. Those same ‘detectors’ think the Mona Lisa (Prado) is Ai.
Like sure bro. They totally had Ai in 1516.
I WATCHED my own avatar being drawn by Kev Bayliss live on stream and it says “Ai”.
BS shenanigans. People are just bandwagoning.
My 19th Master System game: The Lucky Dime Caper (Sega, 1991).
It’s all PAL exclusives on the Master System from here on out #sega #segamastersystem #donaldduck #retrogaming #8bit
This might seem like dumb milestone for some people but after 10 years of streaming I have finally reached 1k followers.
Just wanted to share this milestone. K bye.
Quack quack! My latest Mega Drive addition is Quackshot (Sega, Nov 1991)
Disney games were strangely good in this era. Haven’t played this one before but got recommended to me. This is a local Aussie copy. Quack! 🦆

My 18th Master System game: Sonic The Hedgehog (Ancient, 08/11/1991)
A different game from Mega Drive, this was the last game ‘published’ in NA (they repackaged PAL copies & slapped a sticker on the back). Fortunately, I’m not in NA! It lasted til ‘96 here! #sega #SonicTheHedgehog #segamastersystem
My latest Mega Drive addition: Wonder Boy in Monster World (Sega, 25/10/91)
Not to be confused with Monster Land or Monster Lair. No no, Monster WORLD. Can only imagine how confusing this must have been for parents back in the day. #sega #wonderboy #segamegadrive #retrogaming #retrogames
Only 145 GBP, which is nothing compared to the 3,500 EUR I paid for Mega Man X3 on SNES, or $2,600 USD for Jack Bros on Virtual Boy. Those two were an arm and leg for sure. SMS games are significantly cheaper than Nintendo games by far.
My only rule is I match every $ spent in savings so, no guilt!
My 17th Master System game: Golden Axe Warrior (Sega, April 1991)
Essentially a Zelda clone that’s been strongly recommended to me. Despite the IP it has nothing to do with Golden Axe. I don’t like Golden Axe, but I DO like Zelda!#sega #goldenaxe #segamastersystem #retrogaming
Master System & Mega Drive games are noticeably cheaper than Nintendo on the retro scene due to sturdier boxes used. Nintendo’s cardboard hasn’t preserved very well after 35 years, but Sega’s clamshells have kept a lot more copies in pristine condition.
It also helps the Sega is mostly region free
My 16th Master System game: Castle of Illusion (Sega, February 1991)
Completely different from the Mega Drive game with the same name. A few games did this on the Master System, giving you a reason to own both versions #sega #castleofillusion #segamastersystem #retrogaming #8bit
My 15th Master System game: Alex Kidd in Shinobi World (Sega, 1990).
I’m not a fan of Shinobi, but I am a fan of Alex Kidd. I believe this was the last Alex Kidd game before he was replaced by Sonic as Sega’s mascot. Bye Alex…

Over in my Mega Drive collection: Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair (Sega, 1990) has joined the shelf.
Not to be confused with the OTHER Wonder Boy III. This game is a port of the arcade game which is more of a platformer-meets-shooter genre.
At least it’s 2 player? #sega #wonderboy #segamegadrive
They look great on a shelf don’t they? It grows fast
My 14th Master System game: Psycho Fox (Vic Tokai, 1989).
A platform game I got peer pressured into buying. Got recommended to me a lot in SMS groups. Boing!

My 13th Master System game: Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap (Westone, 1989).
This was really hard to find in good condition for some reason. Curiously this game supports FM audio despite not releasing in Japan.

My 12th Master System game: Alex Kidd: High-Tech World (Sega, 1989).
Feels like a step backwards after Enchanted Castle, but then again this wasn’t originally conceived as an Alex Kidd game in Japan.

Yup… it’s like a regular old A4 sheet of paper that folds out and you have to read it like you’re navigating an old paper map. The text is also tiny. I prefer the U.S manuals the most tbh, but they’re super expensive to import.
That’s what we got here in Australia from Sega Ozisoft. Our manuals were honestly kinda crappy
I return to 16-bit with Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle (Sega, 1989)
The 1st Mega Drive game after the Master System was discontinued in Japan (Fortunately it saw continued support til ‘96 in the West, so I’ll alternate between 8-bit & 16-bit per release date) #sega #alexkidd #megadrive #retro
My 11th Master System game: Ys: The Vanished Omens (Sega, 1988).
Think Zelda but with experience points. It’s good! Also has a save battery. One of the last games released for the Master System in Japan.
The TurboDuo remake of this was great. Very good game.

My 10th Master System game: Golvellius - Valley of Doom (Sega, 1988).
An MSX Compile game ported to the Master System by Sega with enhanced graphics, basically a mix between Zelda 1 & Zelda 2, with top down and side scrolling sections.
#mastersystem #retrogaming #sega
Jack Bros is also pretty high up there, also going for several thousand dollars. This may be our only chance of seeing the unreleased (but finished) Dragon Hopper or G-Zero for the Virtual Boy
My 9th Master System game: Phantasy Star (Sega, 1987)
A 4 Megabit (512KB) cartridge with a save battery, this game was a lot more expensive than regular Sega games at the time. This RPG should last me a while!

My 8th Master System game: Quartet (Sega, 1986)
I ordered this over a month ago, but postage from the U.S is expensive & very slow. I couldn’t find a local copy!
This is my first 2 player game! The arcade version had up to 4 players #sega #mastersystem #segamastersystem #retro #retrogaming #8bit
My 7th Master System game: Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Sega, 1988).
This sequel takes Wonder Boy in a different direction. No more cute dolls, fruit or milk. Now it’s swords, armour, shields, labyrinths and fire breathing dragons!
