In the wake of a volatile ceasefire, feminist leaders in Palestine tell us that they have entered an uncertain phase, marked by a wide range of emotions. At Global Fund for Women, we are in solidarity with Palestinian feminists. We will continue to support their work with long-term, flexible funding
To invest in girl-led movements is to invest in the longevity and sustainability of young feminist power and gender justice movements, 💪
But too often, their voices go unheard, their actions are ignored, and their rights are pushed aside. Their leadership is a key part of intergenerational solidarity, which helps feminist movements succeed.
All around the globe, they are stepping up to meet today’s biggest challenges: demanding an end to violence, fighting for climate justice, and advocating for bodily autonomy.

In Benin, where 20% of maternal deaths are due to unsafe abortions, feminist leaders are resisting stigma and criminalization.
Our partners are helping girls and young people learn about sexual and reproductive health, training healthcare providers and operating a hotline for support. 🇧🇯
In Cameroon, abortion access is highly restrictive. And feminist leaders are working to change this.
There, our partner is expanding access to abortion and other SRHR services with trauma-informed listening, psychosocial care, and community support for trans people. 🇨🇲
In Kenya, unsafe abortion cause 35% of maternal deaths.
Our partner in Kenya – a disability-led org - is fighting the stigma and uneven access. They are training health providers on judgement-free, inclusive abortion and contraceptive care for people with disabilities. 🇰🇪
