What sucks is seeing adaptations before reading; your image is COMPLETELY screwed after that, or stunted. Katniss in the Hunger Games was an OLIVE TONE, which was brought up multiple times in the novel. I'm so grateful I read it before the movies came out.
There have, of course, been wonderful aesthetic choices chosen to differ from adaptations. I HAAAATE the IT clowns tbh, but partially because I sincerely feel that most of King's books are too psychological to put into film. Great movies, though!
