Just finished reading The Guard in the Garden and genuinely want to thank @zsdiamanti.bsky.social as a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, itβs hard to describe to someone how it feels. This quote sums it up perfectly.

Had to reject a car weβd bought for the first time this week. What a stressful experience that was with the dealership trying everything they could to not give us our old car back. Even went as far as to tell me they may ah e got rid of it already, dude, youβve had it for less than a dayβ¦
Remembrance Sunday means different things to different people. For me itβs a struggle, I lost friends and colleagues in Iraq, and helped too many take their final journey home. I tend to spend the day in quiet solitude and shed a tear or 2. #WeWillRememberThem #RemembranceSunday
Currently writing a 3 chapter short story. Not sure what genre it would fit into, probably horror. Itβs something different for me as it contains a fair amount of dialogue, which is something I struggle to get feeling like a natural conversation.
Itβs been quite a good couple of months for me. If I keep this up Iβll have an anthology published by Christmas. π€£π€£π€£
Found myself writing quite a few horror short stories. Iβve been really enjoying it. Not sure if they are any good, but the people that have read them told me they enjoyed them, so thatβs a positive.
Thanks for the feedback. Iβve promised myself Iβll revisit my early euros when Iβm more experienced.
Absolutely devastated, but love the below from AllOnTheBoard.

So my last flash fiction piece submitted wasnβt longlisted. Not a moan, Iβve read some of the shortlisted pieces; they are fantastic. Iβm really happy with my piece and think itβs the best piece Iβve written. So the question, post it here for open feedback, or find other submissions
Opportunities?
Iβve got a few. Raymond Feist, Terry Goodkind, Trudi Canavan. Most recently Jodi Taylor. Absolutely love her Chronicles of St. Maryβs books, and read the first two Elizabeth Cage books, which are fantastic.
Thank you for clarifying, still your effort is appreciated.
While I didnβt get long listed, I still want to thank @sagreene1.bsky.social for taking the time to read all the @freeflashfiction.bsky.social submissions. Iβll read some of the shortlisted submissions, and the winner, and try to make my own writing better.
When someone re-ignites a dream in middle age that you had when you were younger. What do you do? Chase it and hope it works out this time or consign it to history?
Tempted to put together an anthology of all my shorter pieces and self publish. Anyone think of any pitfalls? Not expecting to make money from it, I would just like people to have the opportunity to enjoy (and critique) my work.
Added another piece of flash fiction to the portfolio today. Amazing what you can do on your 30 lunch break
Has had a really difficult, overstimulating day. If anyone knows of a quiet rock I can crawl under for the evening, please let me know.
Opinion: Cheaper sausages make better sausage butties
I know that feeling.

To submit or to not, that is the current question for the last Flash Fiction I wrote. Personally I think itβs the best thing Iβve written, so not sure I could handle the rejection. #WhatToDo #Choices

Social media and I have a complicated relationship. But if I want to make my dream of being an author a reality, I need to start showing up more!

Well done, great twist at the end.
So my piece didnβt get long listed in the Flash Fiction competition I entered. Not surprising as itβs the first piece Iβve ever entered. So, in order to make myself a better writer, here it is βPeople Watchingβ. Please feel free to give constructive feedback. #flashfiction #writing #Creative
Just finished this book. All I cam say is WOW. What a stunning interpretation of what happens when you die. The book had me laughing, crying and has left me with plenty of thoughts. Thank you #TJKlune I hope when my time comes, there are people like Hugo and Mei to help me continue my journey.
Thanks, it's an inherent gear of rejection. As long as 1 person reads it, and enjoys it, then I'm happy.
Just entered my piece of written work into a competition. It's only flash fiction (less than 300 words) and I fear people reading my work (bad for a wannabe author π) let's see how it goes #creative #writing #storytelling #flashfiction
The latest mini
Part 2 of 3 now done.
Part 1 of a 3 part project. Yes I know Christmas is over, but I couldn't resist this model. Other 2 parts are currently printing. *yes I know I still have the underneath to do.
Thanks @thearmypainter.bsky.social for making mini painting that little bit easier with Speedpaints.
