… I think the new shows BBC Three produce are great, but there's only really three types of them… Comedy, Drama or Reality, for me it's missing those simpler studio based shows. We're never going to see a BBC Three like it was pre-online, but there's no structure, each night is completely different.

The BBC Three linear channel has become quite the anomaly, the younger end of the audience don't watch linear, the first hour each night is basically more CBBC, then the rest of pre-watershed is Top Gear again. Then it's just a random jukebox of shows to bingewatch for the rest of the night.

1. BBC Sport x The Hundred. I don't need an excuse to do something with my BBC Sport files, but I loved the refresh done to The Hundred OSP, and felt something like this would be a great way for the BBC to adapt their sport graphics further than just the gradient.

Talking of that song contest thing. Being able to use my iPlayer FAST channel as a way of recreating the animations used across BBC channel assets (menus, ECPs, etc.) was nice… not that I'll be doing the same thing next year. bsky.app/profile/patv...

4. Big Brother. The most recent on the list, even a few weeks on there are a few things I'd alter, but a bit like that song contest thing, BB allows me to create a template to adapt to each new look and work out how it interacts with it. bsky.app/profile/patv...

5. Risocast. It's something I'd like to return to as a more developed concept, but I think a risograph style could work well for Newscast, even though it's a digital effect, for me it represents daily podcasts as the "modern day newspaper" mixed with vibrancy and contrast.
