I never did care for music, much.
I never did care for music, much.
It's not every day I get an email read out on Radio 3, and my Playlister suggestion played. I knew my ability to quote huge swathes of HHGTTG would come in useful one day.
Lost, obviously
A photograph of the accompanying picture from the book. It's a railway station sign, in green on a wooden structure. The platform is overgrown, as befits a Lost Line.
The Lost Lines of Britain, a nostalgic trip along Britain's list railways.
Sandsfoot Castle Halt was opened in 1932 to allow passengers access to the nearby ruins of Henry VIII's castle overlooking Weymouth Bay.
That's akin what I'd heard, but I wasn't sure if it was an urban myth. Thank you!
They repeated a couple of episodes last year, for a good reason, but which I cannot remember. They both had Janet Brown, and I'd love to hear some of June Whitfield's work.
I wonder, @dirkmaggs.bsky.social , did she really get the job via a Maggie impression in panto?
Wednesday 14th. Good, fine. Turn off light, head towards the stairs... Wait, that's tomorrow, which means they need to go out NOW! Adulting unlocked.
I decided to take to my bed with my reading book ("My Headteacher is a Vampire Rat", if you wanted to know). About to head up the wooden hill, when I suddenly thought, "When is bins?" Return to kitchen, to consult the graphic.
I stopped listening when John rolled his tractor and died, the same week my father died (not tractor related).

I walked through the churchyard of St Nicholas on Thursday. And had a pastry with my drink, rather than cake. But no visit to the Evening Star (I was home shortly after 1pm).
Paid!
The cover of Haunted Tales, by Adam Macqueen
It's approaching spooky times, so who'd like a copy of this?
Seven! Seven chants listed! A-woo! A-woo!
Uncle Ernie, Auntie Gin!
Thank you for my education! Whenever I see "Masterpiece Theatre" I picture The Muppets' "Monsterpiece" version. /Heads off to watch some Cookie./
And, there you go. Acorn? Now, I am aware of Netflix and of Apple TV. I think there's a Roku? But I don't subscribe to any of them. This is not my area of expertise!
Sometimes the eyes just will not see.

I do like a good Miles laugh. He's so generous with it, too.
Who did you get?
And what, I want to know, is Archie doing there? Why is he not Bluebell-ing?
Brighton pavilion and huge, ominous clouds.
It's a bit black over Bill's mother's.
I applied for tickets on both days (ages ago), but only received them for Sunday. I didn't mind, and would have been happy with either, let alone both. We were in the West stand, about level with the try line. But they ran all their tries in down the other side!

New Zealand women's rugby team warming up ahead of their game against Ireland. Bright green grass, rugby players in all black. In the foreground are official photographers. In the distance, blue seats of the stadium waiting for their ticket holders to arrive.
A different type of day out. And seats right by the action.
Eventually fish outnumber every other kind of shop, it becomes economically impossible to build anything other than fish. So long, and thanks.
If there's a spare still, I'd love it.
The programme for The Merry Wives of Windsor at The Globe. It's placed on a wooden table, with a small coffee to one side.
A day out! A favourite play!
