In NC, the Senate budget bill would kick 663,000 North Carolinians off health insurance by eliminating Medicaid expansion. Other folks would lose Medicare coverage. The toll in human suffering is unquantifiable. The economic cost is in the $billions. This is a clear statement of values.
Says the NYT: "Millions of low-income Americans could experience staggering financial losses under the domestic policy package that Republicans advanced through the Senate on Tuesday."

Fabulous article showing how federal cuts hurt local drug treatment efforts in a county where the opioid/fentanyl crisis hit hard. Wilkes County is blessed with resourceful, dedicated, creative people/organizations. Cutting promised funding is short-sighted and counter-productive.
