Another report suggests Medicaid cuts could lead to thousands of deaths The new report estimates that coverage losses could lead to delayed care, increased hospitalizations and more deaths. Its findings echo a study published in June.

Before Medicaid expansion in NC (over 669,000 people enrolled in 18 months!), people *died* because they couldn't afford adequate, consistent, reliable health care. Little did I know then that the entire country would be plunged into that same grim reality.

You Thought Medicare Was Safe? Think Again. Sequestration threatens more than $530 billion in cuts to the program over nine years. The results will be catastrophic.

Trump promised not to touch Medicare—but that’s exactly what this “big beautiful bill” will do, to the tune of $535 billion in cuts. CAP’s Don Berwick explains the harm:

The Senate passed the Republican budget bill yesterday

This bill would unleash Trump’s radical mass deportation agenda & destroy nearly 6 MILLION jobs

Trump wants to TRIPLE deportations, to 1M/year. This budget will give him the $$$ to do it, says @benzipperer.org:

In NC, the Senate budget bill would kick 663,000 North Carolinians off health insurance by eliminating Medicaid expansion. Other folks would lose Medicare coverage. The toll in human suffering is unquantifiable. The economic cost is in the $billions. This is a clear statement of values.

Fabulous article showing how federal cuts hurt local drug treatment efforts in a county where the opioid/fentanyl crisis hit hard. Wilkes County is blessed with resourceful, dedicated, creative people/organizations. Cutting promised funding is short-sighted and counter-productive.
